My friend got told by a lad that there is "no chemistry" between them. We have already figured out that this means he is not attracted to her, but does this also mean he does not like her at all? What do you mean exactly when you say "no chemistry"?

I agree with Richmond girl.
The expression originates with Goethe's "Die Wahlverwandtschaften", a 19.th century classic, and the science of the time, when it was discovered for the first time how an element would leave its present chemical compound and get together with an element in another one, thus forming a new substance. "No chemistry" just means no (sexual) passion, usually it does not mean that the other person is not liked and/or estimated.

It could either be a polite way of saying he isn't attracted to her but usually means there is no possible future if they started to date.

He may well like her as a friend but there is no sexual chemistry between them, no spark! Put simply, he doesn't fancy her.

It simply means that he is not attracted to her. He might want to be just her friend but he definitely does not want to be her boyfriend.

It's a polite way of saying, "I'm not physically attracted to you."

"no chemistry" is like "no electricity" or "no zing"

she may like him as a friend, but at this time, she does not think of him as a potential boyfriend.
