No. It takes much more than one puff to get "addicted" Smoking is mostly a psychological addiction, like eating chocolade, burgers, drinking coca-cola, etc. all mentioned are equally dangerous in large amounts for yourself and others somewhere down the line.

AA say that you're born addicted, but that is just to get more members and to have the present members staying.

Sounds like he want to be a smoker, and if so - let him. No harm in that.

See, it all depends on your mindset. If you are determined to smoke again, even if you dont feel addicted, you will smoke. But a person who really wants to quit smoking, being a smoker for more than a decade can still quit it if he wishes to.From your question, I suppose that you would like try smoking, but are afraid that you may get addicted to it.. As I had mentioned, its all about your will.If you want to stop it, you can do it anytime...
There's nothing like getting addicted to it in just one puff.

He could have if he really liked it and kept going......that's how it all starts so ......after the first puff is a telling sign about what you are going to do with it. physically there is no way to get addicted on one puff. stay away from the puff!!!!! Move away from the Puff!!

Not possible. Cigarette addiction is dependent upon the formation of nicotine receptors in the brain. One puff won't do it.

Some people will say that they wanted another the very next day. Some will say that they never picked another one up. Let me put it to you like this...smoking is gross. It tastes bad, it smells bad, it can give you a headache the first time. But millions of people go back for that second puff...you tell me why.

You sure can. It gives you a physical high; I was addicted immediately. The psychological addiction came later.

Nope, your brain hasn't had the time to develop a dependency.
