some of the answers that have been given seem to be from that gateway website. i went to the link that someone used and it seems that the answers are being word for word. for the ones that are always using it, do you really need it or can you understand the bible w/out it? again im not trying to be funny but im wondering can you understand what your reading? i will admit there is still alot i dont understand but i search the bible till i find out what i need to know. if i still not sure then i ask questions to kinda get a confirmation on if im understanding, but i dont just quote from a website.

(singleeye) why would you say the bible dont have all the answers? if that is God's word and the truth why wouldnt it have all the answers? as far as confirmation, you dont think God will send someone down your path to confirm what you might be feeling or thinking? i think he uses different ppl and different ways to get His point across. but thats just my belief.

(crack) i am a christian, but i also word my answers from my bible, heart and mind, not from a web site. i never said it was wrong, i asked if you understood what you were reading. i wasnt trying to offend anyone, thats why i said "not trying to be funny" maybe i should of said not trying to be nasty or mean.

A lot of those Christians do that. They're the lazy ones. That's also why they take the easy road and condemn atheists rather than the path of Christ and forgive & teach them.
I don't use any type of online Bible. I keep a NIV Bible next to me whenever I log onto Answers. If I need a scripture, I look it up, and then I type the passage. I leave it up to my audience to look it up, if they are interested enough.
Also, whenever I cite a passage, I make sure I read over the entire chapter before entering the citation. I want to be sure that the passage says what I think is says, and that I'm not misinterpreting it or taking it out of context.

The bible does not have the answers to all of your questions. Also, you do not need others for confirmation of the truth, that is a ministry of The Holy spirit.
Add. comments: The bible being the infallible word of god and the truth are assumptions not facts. Jesus Himself refutes this assumption in The Apocryphon of John where He makes it clear that the god of the o.t. is satan and not God. The bible does not tell you about the first sin in heaven, where we come from, or what our purpose for being here is. Showing us these things is also a ministry of The Holy Spirit. Contemplate what Jesus meant when He said that the kingdom of heaven is within us. Be smart, reject god of the o.t., he is not related to Jesus.

I like crosswalk.com - I can remember what I read in the Bible, but have trouble with the "addresses". Being able to search by keyword or phrase is a Godsend for me, because it not only directs me to the verse I'm looking for, but often other verses that parallel it.
I understand the Scriptures - but I stay away from what all the experts on the site have to say. I believe the Bible is infallible - why try to improve on perfection?

What's Bible Gateway?? I don't use it. I just read the Bible, ask God to help me understand, and try to listen to what He tells me.

OK I caught sight of this while scanning. The bible does not have ALL of the answers. God created this amazing Universe, full of wonder and beauty so that we might learn from it. Did he create all of this so that we could find all of the answers in one book. I think you give him too little credit for his creation.

I am an atheist and I notice the same thing. As you do, I do my own research and I always manage to come up with the answer. Just keep on the way you are going and you will get to where you want to be.

It is ok to cut and paste from other sources if you name the source. That is why there is a box that says "Know your source? List it here."
If people want the Christians to post our own material, then please stop asking the same silly questions several times a day. It does get tiresome answering the same question again and again and again.
And again.
And again.
And again.
Finally, I just say- here's a link.

If people are going to copy and paste from a website, they should at least have the honestly to mention the source in the "Know your source? List it here:" section of their answer.

You certainly succeeded in not being funny. Maybe reading something else than the Bible would help. Try Euclid.

I agree with you that there are some people who copy every word to give out information. We need to boggle out our brains and give our views/remarks. You are good to say about it.
