If anything, isn't it worse to take a person's life before they even have a chance to live?

Ipsulis -
The answer to your questions in order:
1.) I myself have physical malformations that were caused by my mother's chemotherapy(sp?) and they haven't diminished my will to live. It's wrong for people like you to automatically assume that you know how someone will think before they're even born.
2.) Why not kill the rapist instead of the baby? What did the baby do to deserve such a fate?
3.) Same basic principle as question #2; although both are very unfavorable circumstances it is extremely unfair to the baby to end it's life just because of the circumstances that it is born under, which it had no control of in the first place.

Jayce - If you have such a problem with the things that you mentioned then it is your burdon to change them, instead of just whining.

Qwerty - With their own body, YES!
But NOT with someone else's.
If the woman wants to commit suicide after the birth of the child then that is her right, but the baby's body should NOT be viewed as just some piece of property that she owns and can do with it whatever she pleases. This is a human life here. Yes, it may not be fully developed at the time of abortion, but that's only because it hasn't been given the chance to.

It's more acceptable because abortion circumvents our natural instincts. Generally speaking, it isn't just the thought of a victim which triggers an emotional or protective response, it's visual and auditory cues. We need to see a face, and hear and see the suffering taking place, to really get a good feel for it and react.
By its nature, abortion gets around those instincts by terminating the life of the fetus while it's still unable to scream in pain, and while it's still hidden away inside the mother's body so no one has to really see its face or watch it suffer.
Without those cues, it's a lot harder to become as deeply emotionally invested in the welfare of the victim. Haven't you noticed that when they deliver a baby, even a premature one, they take steps to deliver it head first (which is also much healthier for the mother), but deliver the fetus the other way around so its face is still hidden during a partial birth abortion?
Once we're able to see and hear the infant, it's no longer acceptable to harm it, even for reasons we would find perfectly acceptable to abort it for (such as it being severely disabled, deformed, or nonviable in the long term) because our natural instincts to protect our young kick into play, and with very few exceptions, the act simply becomes unthinkable to us.

It's her body. Until the fetus is born it's a growth within the woman's body. Not an individual. I agree with abortion, not in ALL cases, but in some.
Rape... I know you're going to argue "but it's not the baby's fault". You're letting the woman go through more psychologically damaging conditions for a growth in her body which she didn't choose?
Incest.... again most of these cases are also rape, so see the above statement.
Mother's Life in Danger... with some pregnancies, there are cases where if the pregnancy is allowed to continue both the woman and the fetus within her will die. Happens when the woman is too young and not developed, when the fetus and woman have different blood types, etc. So you'd rather two birds with one stone?
And before you ask: yes, I want children one day. But I'm not going to tell a woman to have children and take away her right to choose when to have them and with whom.
And don't even bring up "Well she should keep her legs closed". Well you men should learn to keep it in your ____ pants! Takes TWO to tango buddy. And too often men run away from their responsibilities in the matter.

This subject always bring controvesy. I am against abortion and see it as murder. However, I thought you may be interested in hearing this:
A while ago I had a dream. It wasn't one of those crazy mixed up ones but was very distinct. I typed it out because I knew it was significant. I even gave it a title:
Little Stranger
In my dream I walked into a dingy back room. Through the mists of my imagination I saw a young lady, still a teenager lying on a bed. She was wearing a white surgical robe. The robe and the bed were stained with fresh blood. A doctor also wearing white was attending her. As I approached them I noticed the smallest baby I had ever seen. Naked but breathing it lay silently discarded on the floor.
“What is going on” I asked, horrified as I picked the perfectly formed baby up and held it close.
The doctor gestured to the young lady with his head and quietly answered, “She’s had an abortion.”
I’m sure I caught the babies gaze as I looked down at it. Impossible though. The doctor didn’t care if it was suffering or not. The mother turned her head
to look the other way.
“How pregnant was she” I managed as compassion for this little soul poured from my heart and permeated every fibre of my being.
“16 weeks” The answer seemed clinical and devoid of all emotion.
I gasped, knowing that all I could do for the baby was let it feel some human contact and love as it passed from this world into eternity, which it surely would. No baby of this gestation could ever survive. I was not aware of it’s gender but I noticed it’s colour changing. The healthy pink was being replaced with a lifeless grey. My eyes filled with tears and I awoke in my comfortable warm bed in the knowledge that this is the fate of thousands of unborn babies worldwide every day.
Last year there were over 207,000 abortions reported in the United Kingdom alone and there have been 6,578,149 reported since 1930.

The social acceptability of abortion decreases with the age of the fetus in the womb. There are still many unresolved ethical issues in fetal abortion. The main issue seems to be: When does human life as we see it , begin in the conception process?
At the moment when the sperm joins the ovum or sometime afterwards? When do we say it's another human life, not just a mass of living cells like a growing cancer mass?

Abortion is murder, and those that perform Abortion are no less guilty of MURDER than the Boston Strangler, Jack the Ripper, the Hillside Strangler, or Josef Mengele Murder is murder regardless of the age of the victim.

Abortion is a necessary evil. If abortion is illegal, people will do it anyway, with much potential danger to the woman. The only acceptable alternative is to force the father to raise the kid. With DNA testing, that should easy to identify the father.

Are you trying to say that if abortion is legal that it's okay to kill people too?
Um no.
Abortion is more acceptable than murder because 1) I don't think the baby actually knows what's going on. 2) because if you keep a baby that you shouldn't have kept, they could live a life worse than death.

According to the Bible, murder is murder. Abortion is murder. It goes against the Ten Commandments. However, if you repent you can be forgiven. If you truely believe you have sined and want forgiveness, the Lord will forgive you through His son Jesus. He died so we can be forgiven. Even in this case.
