I'm sorry to hear that. Your doctors are right, there is really nothing that can be done other then dialysis. And then it will only lengthen her life by a couple of months. Your dog is suffering because kidney failure is painful. She needs to be put down. That is the most humane thing you can do for her right now. Otherwise she will die a painful death. Let her go with dignity and knowing that you love her enough to not let her go through all the pain. Be there for her and tell her she's a good girl and that you love her. I'm sorry there isn't more I can do or tell you that will help. My mom's dog had kidney failure and we had to put her down also. Mom cried for a long time but it was the best thing for her since the doctor said she would never be the same and that dialysis would only prolong her life by a couple of months at most. The poor thing was in so much pain and so swollen. It hurt more to see her in that condition than the thought of losing her which was just as painful. You will be doing the right thing and your dog will wait for you at the Rainbow Bridge. I'm sorry your dog and you have to go through this, it's not easy. You have someone to talk to if you need it. I will be here.

Here is another poem that may comfort you in your great sadness titled. Member of the Family by Hope H. Kolb.
What would I do without you,
My precious furry friend?...
Part mischief, but all blessing,
and faithful to the end !
You look at me with eyes of love:
You never hold a grudge
You think I`m far too wonderful
to critize or judge.
It seems your greatest joy in life
is being close to me...
I think God knew how comforting
You warm, soft fur would be.
I know you think your human,
but I`m glad it isn`t true...
This world would be a nicer place
if folks were more like you !
A few short years are all we have;
one day we`ll have to part...
But you, my pet will always have
A place within my heart.

I am so sorry for your hearbreaking decision, but spare her the pain and let her go. 9 years is is a long time for a big dog. I`ve been there and still haven`t gotten over the decision, but it was the kindest thing I could do for a dog I loved. God Bless you in your sorrow, You will meet again on the rainbow bridge.

I am sorry. The doctors are right. Your dog is in pain and suffering. She unfortunitly may die no matter if u put her to sleep or not. My 11 year old Akita died from Kidney Failer and he died the same day he was supposed to put to sleep. If there was a thing that could save a dog from their kidneys failing, I would have loved to know that 6 years ago. Best Wishes for the future.

May I go now?
Do you think the time is right?
May I say goodbye to pain filled days
and endless lonely nights?
I've lived my life and done my best,
an example tried to be.
So can I take that step beyond
and set my spirit free?

I didn't want to go at first,
I fought with all my might.
But something seems to draw me now
to a warm and loving light.
I want to go
I really do.
It's difficult to stay.

But I will try as best I can
to live just one more day.
To give you time to care for me
and share your love and fears.
I know you're sad and afraid,
because I see your tears.

I'll not be far,
I promise that, and hope you'll always know
that my spirit will be close to you
wherever you may go.
Thank you so for loving me.
You know I love you too,
that's why it's hard to say goodbye
and end this life with you.

So hold me now just one more time
and let me hear you say,
because you care so much for me,
you'll let me go today.

I'm sorry...
That happened to my 10 month old dacshund puppy..
Our neighbor fed him rat poison..
The vets did everything they could..
They even did a blood transfer from a great dane. [lol...]
Romeo wouldn't..couldn't do anything..
We had to put him down..
I'm sorry but it's the best thing..
Do you really want your dog to suffer any longer..?
Nothing else can be done..
Sorry for your lose...
I know how hard it is.

Nothing else can be done. The best thing you can do is let your vet euthanize her. I'm sorry
