First leader ever or has there been others? Is that true? Tour de France has suffered enough. What do you think should be done to clean it up?

They are working on cleaning it up, that's why there's been so much publicity. Every rider was tested at the start of the race and each day, the stage winner and other random tests are done.

Although technically Rasmussen wasn't fired for drugs. He lied about his whereabouts during a period of time earlier this year. Since they are subjesct to random drug testing anytime, anywhere, cyclists are supposed to inform the testing authority of their whereabouts a month in advance. He said he was in Italy when he was actually in Mexico and missed two random drug tests.

Only once before has the tour leader been expelled (Michael Pollentier, 1978).

As for cleaning things up, I think what Rabobank did yesterday will be a huge step towards that. Now that the sponors are putting the heat on (it is also rumored that T-Mobile may be ending their sponsorships), the cyclists themselves are going to be pressured to make greater progress.

I think it's a great step. He broke the rules and even though he has not tested positive during the tour, this is the sort of thing that needs to happen.

A good kick in the sack would be a good start I think. And then well chop their sacks off and feed them to all of Michael Vicks puppies. That would be a good solution for everyone, including the puppies.

I feel sorry for Michael Boogerd. It's his last tour and now Rabobank stuffed themselves working for the Chicken (lol). They could have done something for him but now it's way too late.

No matter what they do, cheaters will find a way to cheat. As the testing gets more rigorous, the cheating will continue to become more elite.

There've been others, just not this year.

I think they should instate daily drug tests before they start the race, and have drug tests immediately after the end of each day's racing.
