An i-pod and a phone has a too-low volt, but something bigger, say perhaps a car battery or a computer battery, you might get zap, but if your ipod was plugged into the wall and the power was turned on and it got wet and you touched it, yes you would get electrocuted.

You can be electrocuted by anything with an electrical current, but a battery will quickly drain in a situation like that. For example, many people test 9 volt batteries by sticking them to their tongues, and if you feel a small jolt, you'll know it works. Most batter operated devices like phones and ipods will run out of battery power quickly when submerged though.

Small batteries like an IPod or Cell Phone - No.
Not enough current or voltage, (unless the power is stored by a capacitor as in a photoflash unit or taser).
Much larger batteries - yes.
It depends on voltage, (enough to cause current to flow?), and ampereage, (enough current to cause damage?), if it does flow.

You need much bigger batteries than what's in an ipod or a mobilephone. Something like a car battery would give you a nice shock.

Not something that small since it only operates at 9 or so volts. even if its plugged to the wall. now if you stick something in the outlet wall yeah maybe lol.

"Can you be electrocuted by something that is battery operated? "
Ever heard of a stun gun AKA taser?
