One of the most famous and prolific Christian writers ever was a bonafide Atheist. Can anyone guess who that author is? I will answer later

Mr obvious- sounds like you trying to deny the fact that people can actually find God after denying His existence. What makes it so hard to believe, when God is the ONE that does the seeking?

I am sure there are. However most of the time when I read those conversion stories, it sounds like the atheism part is just thrown in there as if the person was never atheist at all. From their stories it seems far more likely that these people were not atheists but in fact were 'mad at god' and were rebelling from their parents or some other such nonsense.
Also note that due to the differences in population between atheists and christians, FAR more people 'deconvert" from christianity to religion than the other way around.

I'm sure there's a few people who never had a deep thought in their lives who 'get religion' when they're most vulnerable. I wouldn't call them 'atheists' as much as 'unchurched'.
However, my experience is that it's mostly the other way around. Most atheists I know started out as True Believers, but made the mistake of trying to make sense out of their religion. In fact, atheists seem to know Scripture better than many believers BECAUSE they tried to really understand their religion--and, conversely, the ones who are most dogmatic and pushy are often the ones who never really think their beliefs through...

No, I always knew. the famous author that was once an athiest is Josh McDowell. What a testimony. yahoooo. Thank you Lord Jesus for not giving up. amen
Yahoo ministry is great, lets keep it up folks. taling about God to those that dont know and want to. we cant let the ones that will never accept God keep us silent. THats not how God said to preach. He said live truth and speak it without fear or compromise. Just preach it and live it and leave the rest to Him. amen
