Well, I guess I would just say this. I am guessing you are employed. Does your boss give the better raises to the hardest workers or the lazy people that don't really contribute anything? That isn't the greatest analogy but it is the best I could come up with for now. The basis for Christianity is simply this.......believing that Jesus Christ died for you sins and accepting that he is God and will save you from your sins. It isn't about how good somebody is or what they do while they are on this earth. Even the most devout Christian can't do enough good things on this earth to get him into heaven. It is strictly the belief and acceptance of Jesus Christ as Lord and saviour. Don't know if that helps at all.

The rewards that God offers in the Bible have to do with authority and rulership in his coming kingdom; rulership in that new kingdom is earned by those who have accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior, and thus have come into a spiritual relationship with God. Born again believers are connected to God by the blood of Jesus, which gives them a new bloodline; they are now sons and daughters of God by the blood, much like our natural children are related to us by blood.

It is because of that born again relationship that God shares his inheritance, those rewards, with his children; if we are not his children when it's time for rewards, we have no right to expect anything from God. It's the same way in the world today with natural parents; do they give their inheritance to any and every body because they're good, or do they give it to their children?

Good works do not earn favor with God; they only come into play once we become a child of God, and the only way to become a child of God is to become a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ and accepting his death as our own death. Expecting God to give his parental inheritance to everyone on the globe just because they do good works is like expecting a bank to pay interest to everyone with good saving habits, even though they don't have an account with that bank.

What is your opinion? A man had two sons. He came to the first and said, 'Son, go out and work in the vineyard today.' He said in reply, 'I will not,' but afterwards he changed his mind and went. The man came to the other son and gave the same order. He said in reply, 'Yes, sir,' but did not go. Which of the two did his father's will?" They answered, "The first." Jesus said to them, "Amen, I say to you, tax collectors and prostitutes are entering the kingdom of God before you. When John came to you in the way of righteousness, you did not believe him; but tax collectors and prostitutes did. Yet even when you saw that, you did not later change your minds and believe him. - Matthew 21:28-32

((sighing))

Almighty God gave mankind Jesus Christ, who offers eternal salvation (rescue) from their sinful natures, their lapses, and their lacks. Jesus Christ judges the heart of mankind, not their works, bloodlines, color, nationality, accomplishments, and/or their material possessions. The fairest and simplest and most loving way to judge is by a convicted heart.

Jesus Christ "levels" the playing field per se. He asks of mankind what EVERY human being inherently has the capacity for. HE asks for our love and our acceptance of Him and the price He WILLINGLY paid for all of us.

He does not say...if you have royal blood; if you are wealthy; if you are a scholar; if you are a financial dynamo; or do good works that you will rate Heaven for eternity.

He says I love you unconditionally. I will forgive you for whatever sin, wrong, crime, short-coming, bitterness, anger, meanness, or self-centeredness that may be the center of your life.

All I expect is for you to love me, accept me, and invite me into your heart and life....right where you are at this very moment in your life. I can not love you anymore at your very worst than I love you at your very best.

Jesus loves unconditionally. He wants us to love Him with a willing, open, and loving heart.

That is not self-indulgent, self-centered, or fascist...that is love at its VERY highest and VERY best.

There are none good but God.

Yes, you have it though, God only wants those who believe in Jesus. Thank you. Perhaps it's finally sinking in!

Right!

swearing allegiance to the cause, and then continuing to do what you want anyway = "good."

being a good person, doing good works and following your conscience, but not swearing allegiance = "Bad."

clearly this shows the real motives going on here.
