Just about any color will go, so what colors are your existing towels and such? Do you plan on buying all new or using the existing sets? You might take a clue from these. Bold colors are the natural choice with B/W but are a little scary in small spaces sometimes...tending to make you feel a little claustrophobic. If you have one of those luxuriously large bathrooms, go for it! They look great.
Here's an idea....do you have any fabric or sheets in a color you might be leaning towards? You know, enough to cover a large wall space? If so, tack it up to the wall and see how it looks. You might even try to find some paper at a craft store or a school supply store where it comes on big rolls. They usually have lots of different colors and it's generally very cheap per yard. It might save you some money on paint for trial/error till you find the right color for you.

First off.....ANY color you like will go with the black and white tile. I just bought a house that is over 200 years old and had the same black and white tile in the one bathroom. I painted the outside of the clawfoot tub black, painted the chair rail and baseboards gloss black. I already had a bunch of towels and such that were a fairly neutral tan color....even though I'm not much for 'beige' colors. We finally chose a color called "Peanut Butter". It's a rich deep golden color. Did the upper walls and ceiling. It's a bold color without being too overpowering. It's just a bathroom, you don't spend all day in there, so find your favorite color and go for it.

How edgy do you want to be? I recently saw a house with a remodeled bathroom that boasted black and white tile, black toilet, black tub - and the upper walls were painted light purple! Sounds hideous, but you know, it actually looked cool as hell.
Black and white are non-colors, so you can paint the walls any color you like. But because BW is very bold and contrasting, I'd be inclined to go with strong colors over pastels.
Strong greens in a bathroom will make your skin take on a greenish tinge in the mirror (made that mistake once - ugh!) but red or orange or even hot pink will make your skin look rosy. Something to think about...

Black and white are neutrals so depending on the mood you want to create, just about anything goes. If you want drama, use reds. If you want peaceful and soothing choose a light blue or pastal pink. Or you could keep the walls white and change the look with towels, flowers, candles and art. This way you can change with the seasons. If the room uses a shower curtain you can get lots of color from the right one. Even a taupe, caramel color could look good with the right accents.

You'll want a bold color. Red is an easy choice but maybe too predictable. I like bright yellow with black and white, but maybe not for a wall color. Hmmm, how about a bright coral color or pink? Oooh, think about bright aqua! nice for a bathroom!

get rid of the lower division on your walls for a larger look in your bathroom. Keep the black and white on the floor- I love it.
Glaze the walls in a tuscan yellow/gold. Accessorize in a peach, blue and turquoise- it will look stunning.
