Sweetie, stop trying to figure it out! Go to your neares planetarium, and sit down and watch the show! You will never see anything as beautiful, or spectacular!
Except for the Grand Canyon, a sunset. the ocean, Niagra Falls!
Or a simple tree! Don't worry about WHERE it came from! Just enjoy it!
In the long run, the Universe is a wonderous thing! Lay on your back, in the grass some night, ( a clear night would help, ha ha ) and just look up into the night sky Look for the Big Dipper, and the Little Dipper, Orion's Belt!
Just enjoy the simplicity of it! Don't try to figure it out!

Read the "Elegant Universe" by Brian Greene..or watch the NOVA series...

It's basically "string theory"....for example, 11 dimensions curled up in a little ball in the corner of every space we perceive....

Or you can just think a Guy With A Beard made it all in 6 days.

You left out string theory which is said to be the theory of everything. Universal origin theories are ever evolving, just like the universe.

Read Stephen Hawking's 'A Brief History of Time'. He is absolutely brilliant and does a great job or explaining modern cosmology in terms that a normal person can understand.

no... on the bright side, the modern concepts of what the universe is and how it got this way are mostly less than a hundred years old. progress may seem slow but it's actually been very rapid in historical terms.

Not a theory - the Biblical account of creation.

I believe in the big bang, but I believe it happens at the end.
