He was a messenger of God, then said "THE END IS NEAR" or some other lovely hooplah, would you Listen to him or just dismiss him and his claims as crazy and ludicrous...

Keeping in Mind that he looks just like an ordinary person. Nothing special or any distinguishing Feautures that you would take into consideration...and this is just for fun :)

I would laugh, thinking he was just trying to pull a small prank to get a giggle.

Well, the end is actually near.
I mean, God did say in the Bible-all these features that are going on in the world today, that this is the end times. If you'd like (and are not against Christianity) pick up the Holy Bible and turn to Revelations 1:1 Start reading, it's actually quite like a sci-fi action book, but it's the truth and nothing but the truth.

To answer your question, yes, I'd probably laugh under my breath and just walk away slowly ;)

Not to sound too churchy, but in reality we are all messengers of God. We are meant to love God and spread His word and in that sense we are messengers. The Bible has a lot to say about the end of the world etc, etc. His claims may not be crazy or ridiculous, however, be careful what one has to say about that subject. They may be speaking from ignorance and not intelligence. If you are curious about the "end being near" or something of the sort, pick up the Bible and read some parts of Revelation to see what these weirdos probably mean.

every-ones end is near. we only live to be so old. and when we die what would it matter its not like there is going to be some big pearly gates that open just cause we did good while we were alive. and if there is a so called god isn't he supposed to be all forgiving? so why would he damn someone to hell just because of the sins they did while they were alive? Christians really need to rethink this whole divine power thing. you can only believe in fairy tales for so long. call the police on the man he is obviously delusional or hunting for a cult like following.

I would stop and talk to him. I would not truly change my opinion on my destiny but I know that these people are only doing what they know to care. I have come acrossed some just like your scenerio and have suggested to them to go to the local soupline or shelter and help those who need help. But also not to push but show the love they happen to know. I am happy you asked this question most of the answers show how people actually treat each other. I have learned to care because I have been hurt alot. I have turned other peoples stones they threw at me as my foundation to stand on. So Thank You.

I'd tell him that I know the end is near, and see if he could tell me more about it. Okay, I don't care if he's crazy ... I've had some of the most wonderful conversations with 'crazies' and I think that when Jesus comes again, he may look like he's homeless, or crazy, and I don't want to 'offend' him, so I don't offend anyone.

True messengers rarely come up to you shouting "I'M A MESSENGER OF GOD"...more often than not they sit in the background and spread their wisdom --- only after you have listened and realize their wisdom might they divulge to you that they are indeed a messenger.

However, there are times when they must come forth; but it is still typically preceded by the wisdom.

I would stay and listen because i myself are not a rude person and its not going to hurt me or kill me to listen to someone for a few min. if he keeps going on i would come up with something to say so he does not feel bad .. But no i would not just leave that's just rude.
If he thinks he is the messenger of God let him think that way that's his choice. of well.
that is just my own opinion about this

Hmmm - I'd ask him "the end of what?" and see what his answer was.

Crazy wears all kinds of clothing - could be he had a real revelation, could be he was off his meds.

But I'd listen for a few.

After all, I had a guy in my cab a few years back (extra cash work) and he insisted he was Johnny cash. Never mind he wasn't tall enough, or even looked like him, and Cash had been dead a few months already. But I was polite and got serenaded for it. he sure worked hard to sound like Cash, even if he wasn't him.

I'd ask him to prove that he's a messenger of God... you know, walk on water or turn my water into wine or something. And if he says something jacked up like "you have no faith in God's word" or something, then I'd dismiss him as ludicrous. If however, he does prove his Godly status, I'd pack my water and weapons and prepare to loot some local stores.

Mankind has been given, "The End is Near" prophesy for thousands of years and it continues to be false. People no longer pay attention to it. It is so played out that they now make car commercials using it.
