Magnolia: I understand where you are coming from and of course you are right, but here in the west it is different. *sip* Not many tea drinkers here.

Jon: A fellow tea drinker I see. Does the broom become better with use as the sword of wisdom becomes sharper with the cutting? Thanks for the tea. *sip*

Rai A: Thanks, you can see something some others are blind to. Until we can see with our own eyes and hear with our own ears we are truly lost. And we know not truth.

I am James. The truth lives in me and I live in truth. Truth supports me and I support it. Like you and many here I am one protector and guardian of the truth.

Interesting question, although, if you will, the question is true for everyone in some manner. From a higher perspective people don't really pick the religions they move into, its more or less decided before they come into this world, as they are working on specific things in this life which such a movement calls for. So such people become polarized to it and it becomes apart of their condition, but this must be in order for the ism/religion to serve them to the highest degree that it can, but religions are merely rungs of the same ladder.
Truth on the other hand is what you become and paradoxically what you have immersed from, what people see as truth is at best their fragmented understanding which will only show them that the truth they have today is only partially true tomorrow. And Atheism is not excluded, as Atheism can not exist without Theism, they are paradoxes and invoke one another - it is cosmic balance.
As for creation of society, depends at what length one is imbued with the cultural mindset and how fragmented they are in mind by such a culture (also a religion can be a corner stone of a society), many be that draw from the world and the world draws from them. But it is always true, all things return to their source and since man is a multidimensional being there is a part of yourself that belongs to this culture or your society, a part that belongs to religion/or certain philosophy, and a greater part of ones self that belongs to the truth.

Sir ,
":I" am the Truth , "I" am the Atman , "I" am the Shiva, "I" am the supreme .
the "I" refers to the soul - the Atma and nothing can describe it better than Geeta - :
The right perspective
The basic ingredient of any endeavour is right perspective, so Krishna right away delineates two universal principles that must be kept in mind at all times, whether engaged in outer activity or inner meditation.
1) “That which is non-existent can never come into being, and that which is can never cease to be. Those who have known the inmost Reality know also the nature of is and is not.”2
2) “That Reality which pervades the universe is indestructible. No one has power to change the Changeless.”3
Now - what I am in this Janma- birth is the sole result of my previous Karmas - including my Parents, my religion, my neighbours etc. etc.
I hope I have been able to throw some light on your question

I am both which makes me neither.
I am one that knows love but has a soul full of darkness.
I hate the hate of others to my own destruction.
In righteous zeal I would condemn the judgmental and chastise creatures of self-righteousness by harsh rebuke.
It would be easier to be a creation of society and religion than to know truth and find hate for those who falsely claim to be of truth, they are so many.
I came to God by love and truth with a pure heart while in the midst of vipers full of bad counsel.
I find tolerance and compassion for everyone but the intolerant, which makes me a hypocrite.
I take small comfort in knowing my anger comes righteously but suffer by the knowledge that such anger doesn’t help. It would be better to be exactly as I am but act only on love and not be moved to action by anger.
If I could release my anger, if I could love the hypocrite, I would be fully of truth.
I just pray that I do not become the thing I hate.

Interesting ?.
I became who I am - at present - as a result of my family of origin, my own life experiences, society (in general), and my own spiritual journey.
I am not limited by any of these items; rather, I make a conscious choice to define who I am and who I will be.
I am not the truth, but I can live in truth (to the best that any human being can).

Intersting thought.
Anthropology student here. Proud Pagan from Atheists parents with a Missionary Aunt.
So I'd admit I'm a creation of my Society, but not the mainstream religious influences. BUT I do respect other's POV & view Atheism as a form of spirituality.

Thanks for the tea! *sip* I was the truth, and now I am the truth with tea! Tomorrow I will be truth with tea (converted) and coffee too! After I eat next, I will be truth with tea(converted), coffee (converted) and food, plus air I have breathed and converted. And so on, and so on...one day I'll die and the Earth will be truth plus me who is truth plus many parts of the Earth which I and others have added. It's all truth! Again, many thanks for the tea that started me on this rambling path!

I am, that, I am.
A creation of my 'Intent', bent on discovery of where that 'Intent' may lead. This is, and was, and will be, my 'Truth'.
Having said that, I'm dying for a ..... Aaaahh, that's better, maybe there was more to that party in Boston than our colonial cousins were letting on ???
