Who wants to deal with the IRS! An accountant is trained to do stock trades, real estate trade, and the good old loop holes in the tax returns.

Because the accountant is closer to the managers,
and the managers decide who gets the dough.
You might as well ask why the managers get the money they do, - considering how little they do.
