Yes its wrong in my opinion. Have you seen to catch a predator on Dateline NBC, you may be violationg laws in your state..better check it out.

I was 16 once and dated a 21 year old guy , bad idea. They were a bit more advanced than I in every way, that I see now! Really no matter how grown I was, the only thing I had to offer was sex and cute face. Seriously you should really re evaluate, what 23 year old man has to date a 16 year old, whats wrong with him finding someone on his age level? If he cares about you he will wait and not ruin the rest of your childhood trying to get you to be a grown woman before your time.

The fact that you even ask this question on yahoo states you have a question as to what you are doing and if it is ok! As far as being your fiancee has he given you a ring? If not, maybe he's not serious and it is another way to "keep you". If he has given you a ring hope the date is soon and you better make sure its three months salary.

I'd wait until you are at least 19. The reason being most first serious relationships don't last, and at 16 you don't even know what's out there. It's a wonderful thought getting married, but really think about it. A part of you must think it's wrong because you are asking this question. Don't you want to be financially established and have experience? Have you ever dated someone and then you guys broke up, and you think back "omg what was I thinking!" Well, give your relationship a few more years and then approach getting married. Why the rush? If you guys are meant to be together he'll be around in a few years, and I'm sure your parents would be much more accepting and proud of you.

I've always said that age doesn't matter as long as you're
really in love... but... well... I say that when people are like...
in their 20's (both partners) or something. You're too
young to think about marriage, eventhough you might
feel like he's the man you want to spend the rest of your
life with, maybe you're wrong and you'll change your mind
later on. Just imagine, what if you two do get married and
then you realize it's only puppy love and not the "real thing"

I would say, think about it (a lot) and be careful because
you never know, since there's an age difference someone
might try to get your partner since they're dating a minor.

I was 15 with a 23year old engaged, was doing it. We broke up and guess what he got sent to prison for 7 and a half years for Child rape. Now a parent if I ever heard of my daughter being with someone that old at your age I would seriously ring his neck and then get a lock for your window and your door so your behind can stay home. He is a predator even if you are not having sex he wants to and he is probably screwing someone else just like my child molester did to me. They work on you! Yes, I said it he was not my bf he was a predator and I was his victim. Find someone that is your age, and tell that creep to f*** off. Pervert! Where the heck are your parents? Are you being snicky about it? If so you know it is WRONG! Good luck to you. I am sure you are a pretty young lady with lots of potential.

Yes...in so many ways.

1) it's illegal and he can go to jail
2) at 16, you are too young to get married
3) this guy can't be too responsible if he wants to marry a 16 year old high schooler.
4) you need to finish high school and go to college before getting married.

I'm 23 and my Fi is 29. So, we have about the same age difference as you. However, we got together when I was 20 and he was 26.

I was in college at the time. We didn't get engaged until I finished college and he got his promotion at work.

He cared enough about me and wanted me to finish school b/c it was important to me and my family.

If this guy want to marry you so young, then he's selfish and it will come back and bite you in the ***. Don't be naive.

Wrong? In a word, YES! DO you plan on marrying him while he's in jail? That's exactly where he will go if the right people find out, it's totally illegal as well. Give a few years, you're much to young for marriage, what are you thinking?

It is not wrong, especially with the added details, but I do think you should wait till you are at least 18 to get married.

The only way it would be wrong is if your parents don't like him, they could accuse him of statutory rape (even if you say you haven't had sex yet, they could accuse him of this and cause a lot of grief).

Yes, it is illegal! You are more than likely having sex. There is not one red-blooded american man at age 23 that would wait! Sorry honey, but you need to dump this pervert!

Sorry if you are hurt, but if you didn't want the truth from honest people, then you shouldnt of asked this question on this board!

Now.,..when I was 3 and in preschool there was a boy, Robby, we were going to get married...he would bring me 25 cent rings every day with his parents money...
I loved them...One day we got into a fight on the play groung and started throwing pea gravel at eachother and a rock got stuck in my ear...it hurt....
He wanted to marry another girl....
So that was it...
No more 25 cent rings...

It was a toxic relationship too...
