Bingo! But unfortunately you will never convince them of that.
You know, Joseph Smith did as much for mankind as Jesus, remember?!! So he was special. *sarcasm*

To begin with, the verses you have mentioned do NOT say what you are claiming and you have picked 2 verses out of context. Read the entire section to fully understand that he was stating what Moses had done:
D&C 84:18-25
18 And the Lord confirmed a priesthood also upon Aaron and his seed, throughout all their generations, which priesthood also continueth and abideth forever with the priesthood which is after the holiest order of God.
19 And this greater priesthood administereth the gospel and holdeth the key of the mysteries of the kingdom, even the key of the knowledge of God.
20 Therefore, in the ordinances thereof, the power of godliness is manifest.
21 And without the ordinances thereof, and the authority of the priesthood, the power of godliness is not manifest unto men in the flesh;
22 For without this no man can see the face of God, even the Father, and live.
23 Now this Moses plainly taught to the children of Israel in the wilderness, and sought diligently to sanctify his people that they might behold the face of God;
24 But they hardened their hearts and could not endure his presence; therefore, the Lord in his wrath, for his danger was kindled against them, swore that they should not enter into his rest while in the wilderness, which rest is the fulness of his glory.
25 Therefore, he took Moses out of their midst, and the Holy Priesthood also;
As Joseph Smith himself states in his account of what happened the day of his first vision, he was so weak that he was unable to move and did not know how long he laid in the grove of trees where he went to pray after the Father and the Son left his presence. Besides, isn't it all the protestant faiths that are constantly saying "Anything is possible with God on your side"?
Get over yourself, you are NOT going to disprove anything. People have been trying this for nearly 2 centuries without success. What makes you think you will succeed today?

One of the worst books ever published and presented to the LDS people was the D&C.
In the beginning it wasn't called the Doctrine and Covenants, it was called the Book of Commandments. Put together by various scribes, which we of modern times refer to as "Church Secretaries" or "Assistants", it was set up as a way to allow many of Joseph Smith's teachings to be set in print for others to have who weren't in his presence when he expounded on certain issues pertaining to the day to day activities of organizing a people and leading them as THEY wanted to be led. It is true that is was edited by Joseph Smith, who had the final say as to how the words were placed and what was allowed to be published.
Joseph Smith knew the members were wicked people who had no more desire to follow the simple truths of the gospel as the Israelites did in following the same precepts they rejected for their "golden calf".
REMEMBER, REMEMBER: In all things pertaining to the early LDS people, they are the "last" as compared precisely with the "first", who were the Israelites who were led by Moses. Moses=Joseph; LDS=Israelites. The comparison is uncanny in reality.
Joseph edited and reedited the text to conform with what the people "deserved" to know and understand at the time.
Because of the misconceptions and the way the early leaders and members began to use Joseph's words and twist adn turn them into their own personal doctrine and precepts, Joseph was forced to revise and edit what had been published as "revelations" from the mouth of God.
Those with eyes which see and ears which hear, would NEVER quote from the LDS D&C to expound upon truth.
Joseph was a true prophet of God, but was not allowed to unfold the whole truth to the people at the time.

Because he was worthy enough and the chosen person to restore the Gospel here upon the Earth. Someone had to see him before the priesthood could come back anyways. Your statement has no basis or foundation. Sorry.
EDIT: No, Morgasm, you are wrong. The saying is something like this; "No man has done more than Joseph Smith for the salvation of mankind, save Jesus only." (paraphrase) not AS much as Jesus. Jesus still did more.

If you'd sincerely like to know the answer to this question, I suggest that you invite the missionaries of the Church to visit with you. There are both male and female missionary pairs, as well as older couples on missions. Any of them will be happy to answer any and all questions about this and any other topic regarding Joseph Smith and the restoration of the Church without argument, rancor, or manipulation.

Unfortunately that can't be found in what LDS/Mormons consider doctrine. If you are really looking to get someone to question their faith, try using something that can be found in what they consider scripture.
