Girl, let me tell you, this is probably the best romantic relationship you'll have IN YEARS (wouldn't like to say in your whole life, you can never tell). Men that age are incredibly caring, they speak properly, they treat you as gentlemen, they certainly are experienced and know exactly how to reach you... And certainly he can look like he's 4 or 5 years younger, it has nothing to do with it.

But, please, BEFORE YOU FALL IN LOVE, please, do a little research. When we are that excited about a man that reached us so interestingly, we hardly think of asking about his past relationships.

Do not forget to ask if he has children, if he has been married... even IF HIS LAST RELATIONSHIP WAS A VERY HARD CRUSH FOR HIM... I don't want to predispose you, but it's better to talk about it before your heart is too deep on this. Let me tell you sometimes they want to forget someone so badly, they look for younger girls to overcome her...

And there is a HARD thing you must know by now, but we are so dizzy we tend to forget and it is one of the most important things: don't you think men that age aren't looking for a platonic relationship?

It would be nice at the begining, but soon he'll want or he'll ask for more. Are you willing to do it? What if he gets bored? Again, this is not just to deceive you, but reality is hard. Would you like him to drop you as soon as he can once he got what he desired?

I know he looks sincere -actually I'm talking because of my own experience- and he acts tenderly and gently. Just try to look what happens in 3 months. (Or more, please! Don't go too fast or you'll be crying pretty soon.)

First try to be his friend, more than his girlfriend. Talk about anything you are having doubts of. He will not think you are dumb, he must better consider you smart. Men that age love smart women.

I wish you the best on this relationship, I wish you to learn and to discover lots of great things on him but mostly on you... and please, when this has more than 3 months, would you kindly let me know how was everything?? ;-)

if you two get along well and have a healthy relationship, there's nothing wrong with it. i've seen much bigger age gaps than this before. age is only a number and has nothing to do with the love that you feel for a person. now if you were 16 and him 32, that'd be gross and he would be robbing the cradle. you are both consenting adults here, so you're fine. have a happy relationship and be glad that you found a guy that treats you well.

If you are happy with him and he treats you well... then go for it and never look back. I think the fact that he believes that he is robbing the cradle will pass with time if you show him you are mature enough to handle a relationship with an older man. obviously you have. I happen to be 38 as well and the thought of having a hot young girlfriend is inticing to say the least. Tell him I said,"Way to go Man!!!"

I'm 34 and the last girl i dated was 22. We had a great time for a few months but then the generation gap seemed to start seperating us. Keep in mind that a 38 yearold guy who is single is just that for a reason. Also he has life experience that you dont yet, so he may be telling you what you wanna hear.

No it is not wrong, you are both consenting adults. It only matters to the two of you. He shouldn't feel that way if you don't mind? My hubby is 15 1/2 years older than I am and he is also the best man I ever met, treats me so good, does everything for me. Do what makes you both happy. Sometimes you have to grab happiness when you get it and not be so picky about things that don't matter. Good luck to both of you.

Honestly I tend to believe that this is too large an age gap. Maturity levels would be very different and there would also be a bit of a generation gap. Sad fact is that this man is old enough to be your father in reality. Probably not the kind of response you were looking for but you did ask for honest opinions.

It's not wrong, but do think about what it will be like later. How your activity levels may differ and since you mentioned looks, what may happen there as well.

If you think it's good, think of how he must feel dating a 22-yr old!

I had a similar relationship at your age, but moved on.

True love doesn't ask to see an ID, Just make sure it is true love before you marry. My parents had 10 yrs difference. And it was great. My father was the first to die 10 yrs ago and my mom has remarried and is well adjusted.
No need to rush into it.

Older men have been there and done that, and they know better how to treat ladies.

Just take your time. If your love is meant to be, it will take its course. Don't rush in too quickly. He will understand and he will take his time as well.

As for your friends, don't worry. If they see that you guys are good for each other after a while, they will accept him.

Love is not based on a number.... If you two are mutually interested, then the age difference should not be an issue.. plus, if there are issues.. then u two should talk about them....
