Absolutely! It was one of the best places I have ever visited. I went to Sydney and Melbourne last Summer for three weeks and had a blast! I think I liked Melbourne the best with it's more European feel, multi-cultural restaurants, lush parks and proximity to both the mountains and the Great Ocean Road.

The people were friendly, especially in the small towns I stopped in. I made acquaintances that really made the trip that much more fun. I drove from Melbourne up northwest to visit The Grampians National Park in June (their winter.) I had the place to mtself to explore since it was the off season. Once again I met nice people and the scenery was stunning.

The drive along the Great Ocean Road goes through quaint small seaside town after another. In between are waterfalls, lots of animal life and the rugged beauty of the south Australian Coast. The mountains to the north east of Melbourne look like scenes out of Sound of Music! There are plenty of places to stop and enjoy the sounds of the parrots in the rain forests.

I have to warn you of something though. It is possible that you will have a very real dilemma when you are looking at your return airline ticket. You will be thinking, "Why on earth do I want to go back home?" :-)

Enjoy your trip!

Yes I loved Australia for a holiday. I have been to several places including Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane ad Cairns, which are awesome cities because they are so different.

I loved the differences from one city to another, Melbourne is so multi cultural and Cairns feels like you're in the middle of the Amazon. There are plenty of activities to choose from, the people are friendly too.
