There are some real deals at auctions, but there are also lemons. This is a bit of a gamble for all the money you have. The best place to buy a cheap reliable car is from your grandmother. (someone who loves you more than your money)

I've been to the auction off the 10 fwy at Venice Blvd. I forget the auction's name but they were so strict and it wasn't as cheap as I thought it would be. The cheaper cars were buckets and definitely not reliable. I am actually selling my 2000 Toyota Corolla CE right now with 68,000 miles. If you are interested, let me know. I'll give it to u for 4k.

my gf bought a s10 pickup at an auction and it turned out to be pretty good but i've heard people say they were ripped off. 50/50 chance. some auctions kill the battery to prevent people from starting the engine. you have to know what to look for to detect a lemon or cherry. ususally state auctions on impounded cars can net you a good car but you must pay in cash or credit card
