I don’t know about you, but I stumbled onto this website by doing a simply search for scripture. I clicked on the first one that popped up, which led me here. Looked around and thought this would be a great place to provide some supporting, uplifting encouragement to my fellow Christians.
I soon found myself tangled in this web of being offensive at times, caught up in silly debates and even trying to defend my Lord Jesus (whom which, does not need me to defend Him).
I’ve spiraled!
If you don’t mind:
How did you end up on Y!A?
What were your intentions?
Have they changed?
Thank you!

My 20th high school reunion was this year, and about 6 months ago somebody from my class started a Yahoo Group. I signed up for that, and one night was poking around other Yahoo services. I asked a couple computer questions as I was getting ready to buy a new computer. I didn't get on again for a month or so after that, and I found R and S. I work for a local goverment, in social services - religious talk is taboo in that setting. I like coming here to say whats on my mind - I try to be direct and respectful in this. I beleive that regardless of belief (or lack therof) that we are all in this together - and thats the space I try to come from.

The walls of the living room of my newly-bought house were not painted evenly (not exactly the same color). I came here to ask a question about how to match the walls' main color. Then I asked a question about my having found a lady friend from my past on myspace and whether or not I should contact her.
This was before the Darth Cheney (or any other current account I might have, if I had any *cough*) existed.
Has it changed me? Yes, by pure accident I met another atheist, and I followed him here to R & S. Before yahoo!answers, I had only met one other atheist.

I actually thought that this was a connection to get professional advice, [tee hee] and had a question about breeding, actually artificially inseminating, our mare. I was slammed with remarks like if we really love her, we would never do that and if something happened we would never forgive ourselves, just buy another horse, blah, blah, blah.Snobs and wannabe horse folk. I finally got a fairly reasonable answer and wandered over here to seek a little comfort. Saw the postings, and it was on! There are several horse folks here now, as I tell them they may not get technical support, but it is a great ride!

I wanna bring my point across about what I think is important!

A friend of mine told me about this site and I thought it would be fun to be on. I am told by my mother not to give my opinions so I come here and give my opinions on things and have gotton approval by some people. I have received 10 points sometimes. I appreciate very much.
My intentions were just to answer questions if I could and also to help people if they needed help. I was kinda curious about this site too.

does tend to get you hackles up now and then, doesn't it. But , your real reasons are all good ones and it is refreshing to see people with your attitude.
I got on to learn something and maybe help people who are honestly looking for answers. Not necessarily in a religious sense, because as you've seen it can kind of push us beyond nice now and again.

I saw there was a place to seek answers and thought I'd have a look around. I was looking for a sculptor named Tadeuz Adamski. No one knew who he was here.
I started looking around and saw the R&S section. The rest is history.

Logged on to ask a question about a children's book I was looking for. Browsed around a little, found R & S, and I've been hooked ever since.

I stumbled onto this site by looking up some information. Then I became fascinated by how racist and bigoted people are and just how desparate for approval Christians are.
