She went to a warzone. What did you expect? If people live by the sword they will probably die by it.
Besides all life is temporal anyway. We all die. Why would God care if we die in war, or die in our sleep, or in a car wreck? Its all the same.
You see there are two types of people - those who see death and blame God, and those who see death and turn toward God. This event has just revealed that you lean more toward the first type.
And for the record, my loved ones have died, and for about a year or two I was very much hateful toward God, I literally swore and cursed at him. But I realized that God was a God of mercy, and that this life was temporal anyway. Even the stars will perish. And also I tried getting into the military and wanted to be sent to Iraq. I tried joining the Army, Navy and Marines but they rejected me because of my eyesight. Also I have been to South Korea. So by no means am I unfamiliar with what it feels like to lose someone, but I will not use that as a means to blame God. I am not that shallow.

Jesus talked about bad things happening. People back then thought a lot like people do now. Or should I say just like people do now?
The thing that people tend to do is one of two things:
1) Blame God for bad things,
2) Think that the bad things happened to really bad people.
I have a different way of looking at it. As I gather from what Jesus said, bad things happen. It has nothing to do with who we think is good, and who we might think that is bad.
It's actually like this in my opinion:
Luke 13
1 Now there were some present at that time who told Jesus about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mixed with their sacrifices. 2 Jesus answered, "Do you think that these Galileans were worse sinners than all the other Galileans because they suffered this way? 3 I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish. 4 Or those eighteen who died when the tower in Siloam fell on them—do you think they were more guilty than all the others living in Jerusalem? 5 I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish."
Just make sure that you are in the trust of God, in the faith of Him. Something bad might happen to any one of us, especially with foaming out the mouth Muslims around. So make sure you are ready if it does. I hope that everything turns out alright for you and your family.

God never said in His word that problems will not come our way.
in fact, He warns us that people will persecute us, people will hate us, and if we are still willing, we should take up the cross and follow Jesus.
your close relative did just that. she knew the dangers involved, and she was ready to take up te cross.
God tells us in the Bible that there will be persecutions, but He also said that He will be with us, throughout suffering, to give us courage, hope and strength.
God CAN save people out of difficult situations, as He has done so before. But God, CAN also choose to allow bad things to happen, for a reason.
this reason, we might not understand now, but it will all soon be clear why the kidnapping had to happen.
ultimately, we pray this way, "let Your will be done Lord, not mine."
i feel for you. and i pray for them too, those in captive, from Singapore. alot of my friends in Singapore are praying for them too.. we love them, even as God loves them even more. don't doubt Him!

Probably because God is not what your religion has taught you it is. No matter what the final outcome of the Koreans in Afghan turns out to be, they will have grown and served a purpose as souls in this experience.

You have no idea what God can do with this and getting them out safely may not be part of the greater plan. Read your Bible and you can start getting a vague hint how God works in our lives. Not always what we expect.

I am so sorry about your relative's dangerous situation. I am praying for her. God tells us to pray and find comfort in Him. She made the decision to go and she trusts God to take care of her. Please realize that this is what she wanted to do for these people. Please believe that she is helping them. I know that you love her and your family is devistated but, God loves her too. I am tearfully praying for her, your family and for you.

If i tell you how to understand God, will you tell me how to understand Santa Claus?
I'm still trying to figure out why he never gave me the Millennium Falcon I asked for Christmas when I was 8 years old. That's when I lost my faith in him.

God already knows your life, he knows what you'll eat for breakfast tomorrow, he knows when and if you'll get married and have kids, he knows everything. If it happened it was in gods plans for you. God gives you choices in life and we pick but god already knows what we will pick, its our will.
