A drop of temperature to lower than 98 indicates pups within 8-12 hours. Some do drop to as low as 96, but it's not common. Then again, the dogs rarely read the books. Just for general reader edification, and dog's normal temp is between 101.5 to 102.5 F. Be sure your thermometer is properly calibrated. Put it in a glass of warm water with another to see if both are the same.

A temperature of 96 is *never* a good thing. It should be about 101 or so.

Yes I would say she is due tonight or the next most likely. If this low temperature stays for more than that consult your vet.

Are you sure about that temperature? What was her temperature yesterday? Is she acting weird, like anxious or confused?

Try to be there with her when she delivers - I don't know if it will make a difference for her, but OMG it's awesome to watch. (As long as you don't have a weak stomach - it can be off-putting to watch her eating the placentas.)

Should be tonight. Are you sure of the dates? Better watch her. It's going to be a long night.
