Currently my husband is deployed to Iraq. When we met we were both enlisted in the army, since we married he has commissioned and now has deployed.
I would love to have him home with me and our girls however I am so proud of him, he is dedicated and hard working. He has a true and deep love for this country and for his fellow soldiers. He is my inspiration. I love being the wife of a soldier and being a soldier my self. The units that I have served with have given me a wealth of experiences that I would not have had anywhere else. I have grown so much and learned so much about the person I want to be by looking to those who have come before and left their mark as great leaders and doers in our country.
I hope and pray that this country can over come the obstacles it currently faces by those who are trying to destroy it from both out side and inside.
God Bless America and God Bless our Armed Forces.
Kudos to all the military spouses out there!!

Depends on what day you ask. For the most part hubby and I are both glad that he joined. It was something that he had wanted to do. In the beginning just for one enlistment but he has been in 12 years now and is going to make a career out of it.
Yes it has its downfalls, like 15 month deployments to Iraq but the military also has it upside. We have seen 16 other countries while we were stationed in Germany. Have made some great friends and have seen some very interesting things, lol.
So yes we are glad.

Never regret anything you do. Espicially, if it is to raise your right hand and join something bigger than yourself. The proudest moments of my life have been spent in the Army. Raising my right hand and taking the Oath of enlistment, fighting in Afghanistan, and being awarded the CIB. Also some of the things I have got to do, jump from planes, fly in helicopters, shoot machine guns can not be replicated as a civilian. Also the friends you have in the military are the best you will ever have. On top of that since I reclassed when I transferred to the Guard I know have a security clearance and I get paid to go to college, I dont worry about rising textbooks or tutition. Raising my right hand and joining the Army was the best move I ever made in my short life.

I joined the army even before i graduated from high school and i would not change a thing at all. It was the best and worst thing i have ever done. I learned so much about what I can accomplish. I learned about how much I can put up with and how strong I relaly am. I learned about so many cultures and peoples. I traveled. I went without sleep and without showers and without food and I know now that if I have to I can do anything. I did things other people will never have the chance to do. I am a better person for having served. The military is not for everybody but, it was for me.

I am Glad. Joining the military both grows you as an adult and you get so many friends in the process. It is not for the faint of heart it is for the deticated and strong. You will join a family larger then your own.

In 20 more days, I'll have 27 years of service. Sure, there were days when I hated being in, but what job isn't like that at one time or another?
My first enlistment I was a helicopter crewman and a SAR swimmer. I actually got paid to go surfing and swimming!!
I've been in all my adult life and its given me chances to do things the average citizen doesn't even think about.
The down side is that in about 3 more years the military will force me to retire. But I wouldn't have had my life any other way.

Being in the military is just like everything else that challenges you. There are times when you love it, and times when you just wish you were done with it.
Overall, I love it though. There are times when I'm annoyed, but I NEVER regret my decision to join. I believe it made me a much better person.

All branches have their ups and downs.I'm still in even though I'm not able to do the job I came in to do sue to an injury I got a month after joining so that sux, but if I hadn't joined, I wouldn't have met my WONDERFUL husband. We wouldn't be expecting our first child next month, and i wouldn't have met all the great people I have met. I'm not going to get to travel anywhere, but he is in Japan right now, next will be Iraq. At least he is able to do what I would love to do and we are both happy about it.
