this works. get up off your butt or stop what your doing once an hour every hour and take him and put him on the potty and let him sit there for several minutes. this is very time consuming but it does work.
i agree with the above answers if he is content to be soiled put him back in diapers or pull ups and try again in a couple months when he is ready he wont like being soiled and will respond right away to the once an hour thing my son did and he was 3 and a half when he trained

My friend told me about smarter potty training using The Potty Stool. http://www.thepottystool.com I was skeptical the stool would make a difference but I never would have guessed how well it works!
I think it really help boys to pee standing so that they can see what is happening and connect the sensations. The Potty Stool lets boys do this with ease and accuracy. I realized later that my kids really wanted to imitate what they saw adults doing and they were very determined to mimic correct toilet use.
This really is smart potty training. I like that I don't have to use or clean a floor potty and I love that my kids are safe and never have to touch the toilet with their hands! My kids just get right up to the toilet on their own.
The best part is that kids use it for years. Hope this helps you.

I agree that he is not ready just yet, my daughter was not ready at 2.5 and by the time she was 2 and 3/4 all of a sudden she was ready, she began to TELL ME she needed to go potty rather than me asking her.
Just keep looking for the signs that he's ready, you'd be surprised how many kids are not potty trained until they are three.
The more you force it on him the more he may not want to go. Don't worry though eventually he will be potty trained and you'll be kissing diapers or pull ups buh-bye :-)

maybe he's not quite ready. Boys by fact take a bit longer because they have to develope sphincter control...Some little boys only develope it at 3/3.5. Just keep trying and never scold him if he makes mistakes. Praise him if he does a good one and tell him that you would love to see more of what he just did..Lastly, be patient...It doesnt mean anything as far as how clever a child is..Some of the smartest men in the world only potty trained at the age of three..like Donald Trump...(found that out on a web posting;-)

I've been talking with people about babies and potty training, and everyone says the same thing. Boys are harder to train than girls. No one knows why, but the average age for a boy is 4 years old. Though I suspect my newphew of 4 years old or maybe 5, is still pooping his pants

Seroiusly, I tried when my son was that age and he wouldn't do potty either. I finally gave up and am trying again, now that he is 3. Now I praise him for being a big boy and not having to pee-pee himself like a baby. Not sure if this will work for you, but it seems to get him very excited.

skip the potty & go straight to the toilet, put a pingpong ball(or any ball that will float) & get him to try & shot at it..(put some sort of small step so he can do it by himself)he is a big boy now ,also get a chart & put a star on it 4 everytime he goes to the toilet & reward him when he gets to a particular number of stars, goodluck

He isn't ready. Wait until he wants to try. He isn't comfortable with it yet. Just give him a little time. By the age 3 if he still doesn't want to then I think you may have a little problem. Good luck!

does he go to day care?? or is he home with you all day?
Some things that help are seeing other boys do it..or maybe even daddy do it since they look up to dad. That can get him to start.
The way to know if your son is ready is when he acknowledges that he has to go, and can say the words pee and poo..and if he brings you a diaper for changing.

idk if this would work for you but i work at a daycare and with some kids telling them to pee on cherrios (just put some in the toilet) works but also ive seen and heard that boys usually take awhile longer to learn when he is ready he will let u know dont push it bc then they may just do the opposite of what u want
