Yes, that's why rational reasons are reserved for the Flying Spaghetti Monster, The Invisible Pink Unicorn, and to some extent to a Deist God(or Pantheism)

I doubt anyone would "believe in" God for purely rational reasons, though someone might believe about God for purely rational reasons.
Again it all depends on which definition of faith one is looking at. Is one talking about "faith" as in a collection of doctrines, or "faith" as in trust.
One needs the first to do the second, but the first is not the same as the second.

Every person even if they don't beleive that the one and only True Living God exist knows that He does but won't admit that this is true.. My source of fact comes from the Book of Romans 1:20-23. And this is as far as it will go for them, knowing that there is a True Living God. But finding Him is a different matter. That requires FAITH which become a relationship with the Father afterward.
I've heard of people who believed in God for rational and desperate reasons, and never expecting that it would change their lives for the better.
Good question.

God does exist for purely rational reasons, if thats why you need god.
Its possible if the god you believe in doesn't require faith

Since faith is belief without or despite evidence, and there's no evidence for the existence of any gods, faith is the only way to believe in ancient myths.

You can't believe in an irrational being by rational means. God isn't rational - just reading the Holy Bible will prove that. People choose to believe in God because of self-delusion . . . er, "faith"!

Can't be. Just saying something doesn't make it true. If you make an intellectual decision to allow God to reveal himself He will instantly give you faith to go on.
Before that you had to have faith in something outside of faith in yourself. Otherwise how could you make the decision.

could you look at a sun set and think that just is, could you look at a human cell under a microscope and say that just is. could you look at a redwood tree and say that just is. Can you look at a child being born and say, that is just is. Man can do so many things, put a man in space, create a computer that can play chess, that can calculate a billion times faster than we can, but no matter what, we can not make something from nothing. Not so much as one grain of sand from nothing. But some believe everything is here because it "just is"
