I got one about 6-8 months ago and it still hurts some and I have been notcing that when i take it out to clean it I have a hard (almost like a scab) on the bottom part of it inside my ear. If anyone out there has it is this normal? How long did it take before urs stopped hurting altogether? Thanks! Also, did anyone else's bleed after it was done?

Mine is a year and a half old, almost two years. It still itches from time to time but took about a year for the final scabby itchy irritation to go away. It's because the bar rubs on that spot. Don't worry, it's just an irritation. Try getting a longer bar and not playing with it a lot. That will help it stop. Oh yeah, mine bleed like she had hit an artery but she said it's normal. It's two holes so the first one is shock and the second one bleeds. None of my other piercings have bleed like that either, it shocked me to the point that it made me light headed because I felt a trickle of blood roll down my ear ... talk about creepy! If you are still worried see the person that did it or go to another shop you trust if they are not around. Try not sleeping on that side for a while if you do. I love my industrial and if I ever have to take it out I'll probably get it redone. Good luck!

I have a reverse industrial (instead of going thru top ear cartilage, mine goes through the conch...the bottom part of the ear) but yeah, I have the hard bump. My boyfriend (a piercer/tat artist) pierced me and told me to not use the industrial bar, but use two short barbells or a barbell and hoop until they're completely healed. Otherwise, yeah, it will hurt badly for a long long time. I went about 3 weeks with the industrial bar in and was in constant pain. Now I can sleep on that side with the two separate bars. It still bleeds sometimes, too. But I just keep it clean and it'll heal eventually. Cartilage piercings are the longest to heal.

I would ask your piercer about it. I had my industrial piercing done 3 years ago. It hurt for about an hour, and after that, I had no pain at all. I guess I was the exception, but it sounds like you might have a keloid. If it is a keloid, salt water can help reduce it, but since you still have pain, I would seek help from a professional. Good luck.

I had mine done about a year and a half ago. It bled all over as soon as it was pierced and it got infected shortly afterwards. I also ended up with some cartilage bumps on both holes. I used a peroxide soaked Q-tip to press on both of the bumps and they eventually went away. Honestly, it hurt for about six months for me, then it healed. My friend also had an industrial done, but hers hurt for well over two years. It just depends on the person. I hope this helped.

Mine is only about a month old and I didn't have much bleeding at first, but now - during the healing - it seems to bleed more.

I retired mine about 6 months ago. I had it for 2 years and I had what you have and eventually it keloided. So now it's gone. I loved it, but it never did work out for me.

I had mine done but it was in way too much pain, and i didn't like the way it came out either. so i took it out and let it heal but i want to get it again.
