Good question.. Makes you wonder.. It makes you want to rub their nose in it, pinch their ear, whack them with newspaper and tap them lightly on the snout! Oh yeah and alpha roll them ! :)

The reason that they don't show up is because they honestly can not answer those questions! They do not know what they are doing when it comes to breeding, and they do not know what to do with a sick ***** or litter. I was on the phone yesterday with a breeder and we were talking about color and coat genetics. I can rattle the possiblities off my head fairly quickly, he finally told me that I used to confuse the hell out of him years ago when we spoke and that he is glad that I have been there for him over the years. LOL I have a pup that just died the other day when she was 3 days old. I could of posted a question on here trying to see what these people would answer on her. The scenario is , the pup is from a Top American show breeding. She was born, weighed a little less than 1 pound, good weight at birth. Mom chewed the umbilical cord off at the belly therefore I had to put 1 suture in her belly at birth so the intestines did not come out. She was strong at birth. She had a huge swollen belly right from birth. What was wrong with her? Well, I had the diagnosis idea from the first time I saw her. She lived for 3 days, when the vet opened her up my diagnosis was right. We pulled the intestines out to look them over and trace through them. Stomach was normal, duodenum was enlarged, then the small intestine looked like a swollen sausage! We traced down further to find a normal looking large intestine. She had an intestine that had not completely formed together. It was disconnected. Do you think that these breeder want a be's could of answered that one??? Hell no!! These people really need to find a mentor if they really want to breed and breed right, but they never will. I had someone that had seen my girl while she was still pregnant and asked if her pups would be cheaper because she has an ugly head. He was actually shocked when I told him no!! She has one ear down and one ear up, so he was confident that her pups would be that way. Even after I told him that the reason her ear is down is from having a hematoma in the ear before, and that it had nothing to do with genetics.

Morning Everyone!
I wish those who have been encouraging all the breeding would be just as brave and brazen to answer this question. I doubt they will because then they will have to fess up to the people here.
I have tried very hard not to encourage random breeding and to help with new born puppy problems. I have stayed up late into the night to coach some one while their dog has been whelping. I have told those people how to breath life into a pup who is not responding. I have discouraged over mating, have warned about problems that can happen and usually do. I can only hope that they listen to me and others who know what they are talking about.
I have chipped nails from typing so much. I'm not afraid to come here day after day to help but it is very discouraging to see the same questions and the read some who say breed, breed, breed.
They disappear when there is a problem because they have no clue what to do or how to help after the fact.

I have never bred my dogs, but I have often picked up the pieces for those who have as a foster home. All too often when something goes wrong it's much easier to dump the dog in a shelter and forget it happened rather than to speak up and try and warn others about what happened to you. I guess that way they feel they can pretend it never happened and move on to do it all over again.
The little momma I'm fostering now with her one remaining live pup almost died because of idiot breeding. Finally she admitted when she wanted her female back (forget the pup) that the dog had not got out and bred, but she thought her tiny 3 1/2lbs Chihuahua would have beautiful pups with her friends 15lbs+ Sheltie. She actually went nuts when she found out the mother had been spayed when we had to section her to welp her pups because they were way too big for her. She also pretended she did not know she had surrendered for good. Of course when we asked if she wanted to help pay the $3,000 and rising vet bills we had for her suddenly she did not want to know.
Most of those who encourage irresponsible breeding can;t see a problem when it's smacking them in the face so I guess that's why they don;t give answers. Either that or it's not their problem so why worry!

Sherpherd Girl, They don't show their stupid faces because they don't want to be told, "I told you so". That's why.
Flwr 5233. We are answering the question, time and time again. When your dog is sick, take it to the vet. Invariably the BYB will answer, "I don't have the money". There are 1000s of posts saying, if you don't have good PROVEN stock, don't breed. Breeding is expensive. Then they go ahead and breed anyway. Things go wrong and they come whining. The answer is still: TAKE YOUR DOG TO THE FRIGGIN VET.
Hot Dog, if you are just minding your own business, as you say, how come you are on a programme where people ask and answer questions?
Mitch, I don't know from which rock you just crawled out under, but if you haven't seen anybody here DISCOURAGING indiscriminate breeding you must be blind. Of course people should go to shelters and save dogs that have been bred in excess of demand. That is just what we are all saying ALL THE TIME.

Why thank you kindly, Terrier

Any person who encourages the frivolous breeding of a pet, obviously does not have the sense God gave a garden hose, therefore, they can't possibly answer serious questions about how to deal with a sick and dying litter.
How a person can sleep at night after reccomending that an uneducated person breed their dog is beyond me. First, there is the fact that breeding, gestation, and birth are not simple, and a lot can go wrong, both with the mom and the pups. A lot of dogs die this way, and none of these morons realize this. Second, there is the fact that millions of dogs die each year due to these freaks and they are happy to overlook this! It makes me angry, sad, and most of all frusterated out of my ever loving mind!!!
I have a purebred Doberman from champion lines with the best temperament around and textbook confirmation, yet I did not breed her. Why, you ask, because I don't know what I am doing and I am smart enough to realize that!
It chaps my rear end, that here I have this gorgeous, purebred dog that I am smart enough not to breed, then you have jack@$$es saying "go ahead and breed your yorkischnauzerpoo to a maltdachsundcrappy dog. I think it's a great idea!"
Then when the same idiots post, "My stupidly bred heinz 57 puppies are dying and shooting blood out of their eye sockets, but I don't have money to go to a vet - What do I do?" The idiots that encouraged this breeding are nowhere to be found, and it pisses me off too.

Most of the comments that I have seen encouraging them sound to me like kids. Like "yea do it, the puppies will be soooooooooo cute!!!!! :) :) :) "
I think that people that ask that question already ARE going to breed their dog and they are looking for that ONE person to validate their feelings (notice what they pick as the best answer!).
It's also easy, over the internet, where no face to face contact is required to say - go fo it (I never have by the way!). Because those people will never have to see the mess or the disaster or the death or the lack of money, or the trailer the person lives in.
And notice that not ONE person who tells people to breed their dog has answered your questions - just all us old faithful anti-BYBers. Ahhhhhh - spay and neuter!!

I do not encourage people to breed dogs however I do breed rabbits. as a rabbit breeder there is a standard and if you cant stick to the standard you shouldnt be breeding...I also am sick of breeders being so money hungery, rabbits need attention, you can not spend time with 300+ rabbits there for they are not quality...rabbits are a bit different from dogs since there is a huge rabbit meat market... so there is no need for them to be filling up the rescues. as for advive I am always giving out advice, and helping with a problem...

I believe that the people who claim it is wrong to spay and neuter and think it's ok for any person to breed are some of the most ignorant pet owners.
Therefore when it comes to serious questions and problems about litters and pregnancies they have nothing to contribute. They think puppies are "cute" and easy to take care of and that nothing could possibly go wrong. Then the burden here falls on the responsible breeders who know the game, but I am afraid most of what they say falls on deaf ears....
I swear they should require licensing for dog breeding.

Because Fido and Fifi will have such cuuuuuutteee babies and you don't need to do anything 'cause Fifi knows what to do just be there and hold her paw and tell her everything is going to be okay.
*rolls eyes* I agree, completely. Great question! Wish the cowardly BYB's and their supporters would grow some balls and answer.

Amen. That has been my point ALL day with this.
ADDED:
to Hot Dog. Sorry. That theory don't cut the cheese on this one. I saw a certain hater of the 'spay/neuter police' blasting off about how we should shut up and tell some other poor clueless person how to breed their dog, while the rest of us are trying to get some one else who took her advice to take her dying puppy to a vet, even though she 'doesn't have the money'.
Mitch- You are cordially invited to go read all my answers. :-) You'll see I encourage anyone serious about breeding to get a mentor and EDUCATE themselves.
