Eve was a nice subservient woman that Adam knew he could boss around. She wouldn't dance naked in the moonlight and make him feel all jealous and insignificant.

"Lilith was known in ancient Israel of the 8th century BC. The fact that she found a place of rest in the desert from this passage seems to allude to the Sumerian Gilgamesh incident: after Lilith fled into the desert she apparently found repose there."

"In Christian tradition Eve is often used as the exemplar of sexual temptation, a tendency not found in Judaism where Lilith plays that role. Furthermore, the serpent that tempted Eve was interpreted within most Christian traditions to have been Satan, although there is no mention of this identification in the Torah. In fact, Genesis does not even hint at any of these readings, although it is found in some of the Jewish apocrypha but their adoption by many Christians has marked the religion's radical break from its Judaic parent. Writings dealing with this subject are extant in Greek, Latin, Slavonic, Syriac, Armenian and Arabic."

Lilith is mentioned in conexion with the desolation which would haunt Edom.Strange stories are told by the Rabbis. It was a nocturnal spectre who assumed the form of a beautiful woman in order to beguile and destroy young children. In the Talmut she is associated with the legends of Adam. Really, it is quite hard to say which really was the original version due to there being so many conflicting versions of the myth. Lilith in the oldest version I can find is a Mesopotamian storm demon associated with wind and was thought to be a bearer of disease, illness, and death, who appeared as the Liltu, a group of spirits in Sumer at around 3000 BC. The origin of the name Lilith shows up somewhere around 700 BC. Lilith appears in some ancient Jewish mytholgy as a night demon, and as a screech owl in the King James version of the Bible.

The Book of Isaiah 34:14, describing the desolation of Edom, is the only occurrence of Lilith in the Hebrew Bible. This passage refers to Yahweh’s day of vengeance, when the land will be transformed into desolate wilderness. Thus, Lilith was known in ancient Israel of the 8th century BC.

The Alphabet of Ben Sira is considered to be the oldest form of the story of Lilith as Adam's first wife, which was dated between 8th and 10th centuries. The idea that Adam had a wife prior to Eve may have developed from an interpretation of the Book of Genesis and its dual creation accounts; while Genesis 2:22 describes God's creation of Eve from Adam's rib, an earlier passage, 1:27, already indicates that a woman had been made: The text places Lilith's creation after God's words in Genesis 2:18 that "it is not good for man to be alone". He forms Lilith out of the clay from which he made Adam, but the two bicker. Lilith claims that since she and Adam were created in the same way, they were equal, and she refuses to "lie below" him. The background and purpose of The Alphabet of Ben-Sira is unclear. It is a collection of stories about heroes of the Bible and Talmud, it may have been a collection of folk-tales.

Older sources do not state clearly that after Lilith's Red Sea sojourn, she returned to Adam and beget children from him. In the Zohar, however, Lilith is said to have succeeded in begetting offspring from Adam during their short lived connubium. Lilith leaves Eden, only to return later and force herself upon him. But before doing so she attaches herself to Cain and bears him numerous spirits and demons, including Samael and other.

There are so many conficting accounts on Lillith I would go on here for about 200 pages just on information about her, both as a demon and as the first wife to Adam.

Considering the fact that Eve dates back to the 9th century BC and Lilith appeared in roughly the 9th century AD, I would say "no."

Lilith was Frasier Cranes wife. TV show only, not in the Bible.

Eve was the first woman, she couldn't be a replacement for some one who came after her.

Pretty sure of ones self?
The obvious question is did Eve come from Adams (PBUH) rib?
The not so obvious question is, are we so sure that Adam (PBUH) was not created, after Eve?

No answer will stand up in court, but "Wisdom" can and will answer this question.

Irene,
Eve was made for Adam. There was no "Lilith". She is a fictional character that was made up by some wackos. Have a nice week.
Thanks,
