I would suggest checking with the other bridesmaids, or wedding party and seeing if you can all chip in. Check the registry and with a few people chipping in you may be able to afford one of their nicer choices.
Otherwise check their registry and if you can't find anything give them cash or a gift certificate.
I am sure that they know your situation and just having you participate will be gift enough for them so they will appreciate any gift you give them.
Another option is making something, go to the craft store and get some ideas, if you are crafty.
Good luck!

Aren't the bride-and-groom-to-be registered somewhere? Establishing a new household is a huge feat so something for the new family's home always makes a good gift. If you can't afford something from their registry, just get them something pretty for their house-- a platter, decorative bowl, vase, holiday ornaments, wine rack, decanter, pitcher w/ matching glasses, cocktail shaker w/ matching glasses, etc. You can get quality mouth-blown glass from Latin American artisans at Novica.com or if you happen to live close to Williamsburg, VA you can get some nice glass there too (in the colonial style, of course).

Hi,
I would get pictures of both of their childhoods and of them since they started dating and create a DVD video from them with nice titles and transitions.
Some software that will do it for you is Windows Movie Maker (free with Windows XP) or get from http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/updates/moviemaker2.mspx Another good one is Memories on TV - http://www.codejam.com/ but you would need to buy that.
I've used both and you can make some very nice movies.
We've done this a few times for Birthdays and Christmas, etc and everybody loves it. And it will have more meaning than a clock or silver thingy.
Good Luck

Can you do arts and crafts? Can you cross-stitich? The gifts made from you are thoughtful and priceless.
If you'd like to buy something, get an item that's practical. One that the newlyweds will use often.

When my best friend got married I had a really nice picture of them put on a really nice plate. I've also gotten etched crystals and stuff too. They are really nice and even though they sound expensive they're really not! I get mine off ebay.

I agree. A DVD would be great. I have the program on my computer. If you'd like, I can make the movie and then I can send it to you. All you'll have to pay is like, $15.00 (that's to pay 4 the DVD and the Shipping). Let me know.

How about if you plan on having room service with breakfast tray taken to their honeymoon suite if they are having one. Or have a champagne bucket and the trimmings in their room upon arrival.

You should make a scrapbook of their relationship leading up to the wedding. Its very personal I think.
