Why if someone says he's a prophet you immediatly would start pointing that person is a fake prophet. In Mathew 7:15 it says that you will recognize them (false prophets) by their acts... What if the person that is claiming to be a prophet is someone who is a great role model for others and only preaches peace and good messages, someone that has dedicated his entire life to serve to his church in a righteous way? If God used to send us prophets before, why not doing it now? we always need some guidance!

Amos 3:7 -- 7 Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.

If there are no prophets, then I guess God isn't doing anything.

Proverbs 29:18 -- Where there is no vision, the people perish.

We have to have prophets, or we would perish.

Ephesian 2:20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;

The church is built on the foundation of prophets and apostles--without them it cannot stand.

Rev. 11:3--And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy

Scripture never says that there would be no more prophets. In Rev. it specifically talks about two prophets who would be in Jerusalem before the Second Coming.

If you want more scriptures like these, I would be happy to give more!

Ever read the book of Acts son. There are prophets to day Though most just claim to be teachers. Try Hal Lindsey on line. Or gracethrufaith.com. You are just looking for facts in all the wrong places. Why so angry?
God Bless!

1. Most would refuse to listen to them.
2. Many would not recognize a prophet.
3. Most claim the Holy Spirit speaks, which He does, but limit Him to how God desires to speak to us/church.
4. Many would not receive a prophet in His name.
5. Most ignore Ephesians 4:11 and 1 Corinthians 12:28 as past and no longer relevant.
6. Biggest of all:
MANY COULD NOT HANDLE THE TRUTH, mistaking conviction of the Spirit with condemnation.

The foundation of the church is the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ the cornerstone. Hate to tell most everyone, they need to come back to restore this foundation.

It isn't what they preach that's important. It's how they live their own life that tells the truth. If they have any criticism and judgement, they hold darkness in their heart. Matthew 5-7, Jesus Sermon on the Mount described quite explicitly what we need to do to follow God's perfection. Anybody that preaches that someone else is wrong or bad, just hasn't got it. That is how we can tell.

Yes we do need guidance now. Absolutely! That is why when Jesus ascended He said that He would send One to come along beside us to help us, direct, teach, lead, convict us of sin, sreering us back on paths of righteousness and that is none other than the Holy Spirit. John 15:26, Jn 16:5-15.

the bible is your guidance. beware of those who claim to be a prophet. Their are preachers who I believe God lays things on their heart but they are no different from us, just they tend to have quieter lives and listen for him more. Right now we are waiting for the second coming , the next so called prophet is going to be the anti-christ. We haven't had a prophet since Jesus, the men who wrote the books of the bible weren't prophet's they were disciples of God and Jesus. I agree people need guidance but really that should come from God and make sure whomever you believe is a prophet is actually preaching the word.

Read Hebrews 1. God spoke primarily through prophets in the Old Testament, but today, we have much more in the Word of God.

Jesus was the source that spoke to Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and the Prophets through the Holy Ghost. It was Jesus that commanded them what they should say and do, and because Jesus talked to them through the Holy Ghost they called the Holy Ghost God.
In the beginning LORD God (Jesus) talked directly to the inhabitants, there were only 13 of them, but there where over 100 in the land of Nod (Asia) spared by God the Father of the 2nd Age. but not enough people to hide the birth of Jesus from the red dragon.

Jesus was the final prophet because He brought us the Word Himself, and did not entrust it to a man.

Of all those He trusted to deliver to us His Words and only His words, and believe on The Words, none could be found worthy.

Jesus said I have foretold you all things, everything that we ever wanted to know is in His Words, but if you do not believe in your heart the things Jesus spoke, you will never see the kingdom of heaven.

The things I tell you, they are not my Words, they are the Words of the Father who art in heaven, who through the Holy Ghost were given to His Son to speak onto us,

therefore I am not a prophet, nor great, I am a disciple of Jesus Christ, and God the Father has revealed unto me that which he would reveal to anyone who believed in their heart, but not only believed but also did all that Jesus commanded of us.

God has revealed His full Word, Jesus,Treu God and True Man, the Prince and Priciple of the Prophets.

Many Spirit-open Christians are prophets but they do not execise the discipline and gifts( see 1 Cor 12 through14, especially 1 Cor12:27)
