I'm looking for an authentic Mormon Missionary name-tag for a Halloween costume. My friend I am going with has an older brother who is letting her use his, but the only people I know who have been on a mission are still active Mormons.

Any place that makes engravings or trophies can to this for you and even transfer the LDS Logo. You can even make the 'logo' with the help of a community college graphic artist, or Photoshop. It's really easy.

I think I might make a few for the "Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster" with "ELDER J SPARROW"

Arrrrrh and RAmen.

Having served a Mormon mission, I can tell you that the church keeps tight tabs on its missionary name tags. If you want an authentic new tag made, you're not going to get one. You could probably go to to any novelty store and have a cheap replica made. Your best bet would be if you know somebody that served a mission and still has their tag, and then just borrow it. I'll warn you, though: many LDS members (...especially those that served a mission themselves) consider the calling of a missionary very sacred and holy, and they can get very offended when somebody who isn't a missionary is wearing the nametag. I personally don't hold such extreme feelings, but I do think that you should be careful in how you proceed so that you don't offend anybody or hurt any feelings.

It would, I think, be hard to get one, because there are many anti-Mormons dressing like full time missionaries in order to make people think they are, so they can give out their anti-Mormon literature and people wouldn't know till it was too late. That's why it's getting harder to get temple clothing, also.

You should become a Mormon Missionary...that's how! They will not give you one, and should not, because then it would give you an opportunity to mis-represent their faith.

I would say your purpose is disrespectful. They may be false religion, but don't need that kind of action.
