I've dated a man for a while now and we've gone back and forth, on and off quite a few times. What method has the greatest effect when a woman is trying to convey that she's no longer interested in him even though she's taken him back several times before? I want him to understand that I'm done this time around.

Tell him it is time for both of you to move on, and then move on. No phone calls, dates, nothing. The only way he will believe you if you disappear.

I would say telling him so and not talking to him after that would be a good start. I bet the last few times you kept him on the line as a little insurance policy in case you couldn't do any better. That is a no no.

Well...the best way is to not accept his phone calls to begin with. Let him ween himself off you if you have to. Limit your time...don't allow him to take any more time than a normal friend would take. if this doesn't work....just cut ties all together.

you could let him know that it's not working for YOU... because that's the truth.
seems that it's not worked, even though you've tried getting back together post break-up before.
i understand you don't want to hurt his feelings. it's worse to string him along than to express your feelings. let him know...

stand up for yourself and tell him the truth...it may hurt in the beginning but honesty is still the best policy
