Your phone line will be unaffected. You will plug a phone line into your modem and then to a normal phone socket. You may need DSL Filters on all your phones. The ISP company you are with you provide you with those if they are necessary.

DSL Lite is just a slower stream than regular DSL. It is 3 to 5 times as fast as dial-up, and doesn't tie up your phone line at all. The ISP supplies a DSL modem which hooks to the phone line, and either a usb port or NIC. Use the NIC hook-up and you don't have to install drivers or software.

A DSL internet connection will let you make and take fone calls even when you are connected to the internet.
If you're used to dial-up, it's *SPOOKY* when the fone rings when you're connected to the net! :O It used to scare the s*** outa me when that happened!!! :D Now, I'm used to it. But it was *SPOOKY* at first!!! :D
The fone will work just fine, with all the features, and so will your computer. Just, your computer will go ALOT faster than it did on dial-up!

Oh, yeah. You wanna no how it is hooked up. Well, they give ya filters when they send ya the modem. All ya do is plug your FONES into the filters, and the filters into where the fones plug into. Answering machines also get a filter. Everthing gets a filter EXCEPT the modem. The filter filters out noise, and lets the modem do IT'S job, and the fones do THEIR job! :D How's that??? :D
Oh, and where ya have only one jack and need two, like if you are usin' one jack for the computer AND a fone, you use a Y splitter; and the fone, in a filter!, goes into one side, and the modem goes into the other side. It's simple. :) *I*'m doin it, and it works GREAT! :D
