I agree totally with prariecrow as well. I only have one thing to add. In a wiccan Marriage ceremony (called a handfasting). the newly married couple tend to engage in their first act of lovemaking (out of sight of the guests) in a re-enactment of the GREAT RITE, whereby the woman evokes the Goddess into her and the male evokes the God into him and they then consumate their vows in private, but still duriong the festivities of the marriage feast. When the couple come out together they are acknowledged by all present as having concumated their marriage at that point and ARE truly considered married.
I ALSO agree with Pararie, anyone joining Wicca in the hope of having a grand old orgy of ribauldry is going to be sorely dissapointed. While we DO celebrate our sexuality, it is NOT done so in open and free copulation. If it's done at alol, it's done between a committed couple and in privacy. I TOO have heard of some covens where the High Priest and the High Priestess will have ritual sex within the circle but I too have NEVER witnessed this as well. I tend to think that it's VEY rare or little more than an Urban Myth, myself.
As for Somethingtrinity's claim. I seriously doubt the veracity of his/her claim and if it IS true then it sounds like he/she got caught up in something that was NOT Wiccan but rather, ended up being taken advantage of by some unscrupulous folks masqueradinjg as Wiccans.

The first question, yes. The second question, no.
It depends on the type and style of witchcraft, and what religion it's being practiced in. In Wicca, one of the central sacrements is symbolic sexual intercourse between the God and the Goddess -- usually called the Lesser Great Rite, at least around these parts, it involves placing the blade of the ritual daggar into a chalice of wine. While it is rumored that a form of the Great Rite in which a priest and priestess have sexual intercourse is performed in some covens, I haven't come across any evidence of it that I'd consider convincing (other Wiccans may feel free to prove me wrong about that).
Anyone who joins Wicca expecting a lot of sexual activity, either in-circle or out of circle, is likely to be very disappointed. While we consider sexuality to be healthy and sacred, we don't go in for orgies much. ;-)

As other posts mentioned it is usually in reference to The Great Rite - the union of the God and Goddess - and is symbolized with the lowering of a blade into a chalice. I also don't know of anyone that performs the sex act in ritual settings (such as an orgy) although I do know committed couples that do in the privacy of their own homes. It also symbolizes the union of the Divine within ourselves. If someone is trying to convince you that you MUST perform any sex act (or anything else that makes you uncomfortable) LEAVE AND DON'T LOOK BACK. There are sexual predators out there and unfortunately no religion is free of them.

Somewhat and sometimes. Some Witches might celebrate Beltane (the holiday that celebrates sex) accordingly. And most Witches recognize sex as a sacred act. It doesn't go much further than that.
