God dog boy don't melt the strings no. You have learned a lot for only 6 months. I would place you on the intermediate level. When you can play Musk Rat Rumble, By Chet Atkins, I;ll put you on advanced level. It's good to know there is so much great talent out there. You must really love playing to have done so well.

That's pretty good, but remember practice makes perfect...the more you play the better you get. So just keep learning and keep playing and just imagine how great you will be in 10 years if you have learned that much in just 6 months which is the hardest period by the way! Pat yourself on the back kiddo. Good job.

You ought to hear my son...he's been playing for a year and has all the rock tunes downpacked...knows every Greenday song written too...and he's self taught! So there is no limit to what you can achieve when you apply yourself.

Thats good for six months and i would say intermediate, it just takes a long long time beore you can be considered advanced.

Start playing songs by Led Zeppelin, Allman Brothers, Pink Floyd (particularly some of the solos) or even writning your own licks, then you will be advanced. But it take many years to get to that stage.

I noticed most of the songs you play are by Oasis, it is good for 6 months playing but Noel Gallagher is hardly a virtuoso is he?

Just by telling us you can play these songs gives us no idea how good you are. I don't know if you can just strum the chords, or if you can rip up a lead line like Eddie Van Halen. The only way to judge how good someone is is to hear them.

You shouldn't judge your progress by how many songs you learn, but by how many techniques you learn. Do you know all your scales (major and minor, in all chord shapes (look up EDCAGE on Google to see what I mean))? Are your chord changes clean and crisp? Can you manage barre chords on all frets (really just a measure of the strength you've built up in your hand)? Can you read music so as to pick up new songs quickly? These are the things you should look at to judge how well you are progressing.

Intermediate. I don't get the Grade question but I think 7th grade? Or a B+?

I play double bass so I don't really know.

I've been playing for ten years. you seem to know as much as I did at that point and most of the same songs to. its not something that happens fast but as long as you keep at it you'll see big improvement.

You are somewhere in between beginner and intermediate. Keep it up!

Perhaps grade 4? It really depends on how well you can play them, and can you do scales and stuff.
