No one has ever gotten a straight answer about life after death. So many theories.... so many beliefs but nothing tangible that can be explained.

Great question. The answer from students of the Holy Bible will differ greatly - I'm sure. Here's mine.
I believe, that upon death, a person's corpse is buried within the ground and decays. King David - "a man after God's own heart", of Bible fame, is both, dead and has decayed too (he's not "in heaven" - see: book of Acts, chapter 2, verses 29 & 34). Some will tell that you are or have an "immortal soul" and go either, to "heaven or to hell" when you die. One problem with this though. Only Jesus Christ has immortality - it says so in the Bible - see: First book of Timothy, chapter 6, verse 16 !
The Bible hits on a future resurrection from the dead, at the return of Jesus Christ to the earth. (see: Book of John, chapter 5, verses 25 to 29) . The apostle, Paul, spoke of this resurrection in many places within the Bible (see: First Book of Corinthians, chapter 15, throughout.) The Apostle John, writng from the Isle of Patmos, during his exile there, wrote of the resurrection, also. - see: Book of Revelation, Chapter 20, verses 5 & 6 .
In the Old Testament of the Bible, Job asked this question about death & dying, see: Book of Job, chapter 14, verse 14 !
I hope I have provided you with some insight and future hope for all of us members of the human creation.

people who have had near death experiences are never the same again , they describe a place that they don't want to leave , thats peacefull and relaxing and just a fealing of wellbeing ,so undescribable that they can only just make some sort of gesture with their hands that looked like something that was all encompassing, what ever they saw they want to see again so I wouldn't mind taken a look.. if I have to be Good well , I'll see what I can do,,

What happens after death? Nothing. We die; that's it. It may sound depressing, but that's just the way it is. There is no evidence for a god, and there is a lot of evidence against one. Don't dread the inevitable; it won't do any good. Don't worry about it and you'll be a lot happier!

You go into nonexistance, like before you were conceived. But God, through his Son, Jesus Christ will resurrect both the righteous and the unrighteous, those who did good to a resurrection of life, those who did vile things to a resurrection of judgment, not on your past sins for your death paid for those, but on what you do during Christ's thousand year reign.

You wear the chains that are forged in life and you are judged.

The only escape that is provided in to be covered by the blood of Jesus Christ.

Obey Acts 2:38

You enter the dimension of God.

Because time is an attribute of this time/space/matter dimension, you don't enter heaven at a given "time", you enter at a level, or at a status, if you will.

If you have laid hold on Jesus sacrifice for your sins, you enter into the promises to those who believe.

If you have not, you enter before the throne of God and judgment.

Standing there before the throne of God in the brightness of absolute truth, you'll see clearly how the truth was blatantly obvious, but you held the truth in unrighteousness because you chose a course apart from the purposes of a loving God.

If your name does not appear in the lineage of the saints in the book of life. You will take your part in the lake of fire throughout eternity.

Being yet alive, you can avoid that fate.

It's genuinely awful to experience the torment of hell knowing there is no appeal, no reprieve, no hope and no one listening to your cry for help.

Why not lay hold on eternal life now? What have you got to lose?

Can't explain the unexplainable. We don't know what will happen until we get there. That's why it's odd that some people are so sure.

It depends on what the environment does to your body. You can be pretty well preserved in a coffin after being embalmed. You'll rot extremely fast if you stay there. You'll turn to ashes if you get cremated.

Eccl. 9:10 "Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do,do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor devise, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest." (King James)

Eccl. 9:10 "All that your hand finds to do, do with your very power, for there is no work nor devising nor knowledge nor wisdom in Sheol (the grave) the place to which you are going." (New World Translation)

We are just dead. We will be resurrected though (John 5:28,29).
