Is it right to keep the borders open and allow people who have not been given permission to live here to come into our country and demand that our laws be changed?

Why is it wrong to call them illegals?

They are called illegals because they are DAILY breaking immigration laws.

Yet, Bush calls them "OUR FRIENDS."

So, Bush is a friend of law-breakers, right?

Should we grant amnesty to people who break the laws of the United States?

Do I have the right to enter your house (apartment or not) and start demanding my way?

Think about these questions and please reply.

No, it is not alright to allow the borders to be open. Think of it on a smaller scale. Would you leave your front door open to whoever wanted to come in, including the rapists, drug dealers, and murderers? Absolutely not.

It's not wrong to call them illegals. It's what they are. What you've experienced is called being politically correct. It's a stupid philosophy that will ruin the U.S.

I'm a Republican, but after Bush's display, I think it's safe to say he is not. Bush is a moron. Anyone who thinks they should be allowed in this country is a moron.

Yes, he is.

No way.

Not unless you want to be shot.

The government, both Republican and Democrat, has turn a blind eye to immigration on our Southern border for more than 20 years because we need the field workers. So to completely blame them is a stretch. The country allowed them to break the law. We must take some responsibility for our actions. But there is a limit. Yes, they are our friends, not our enemies and they come here to make a living which they cannot do in Mexico. They are illegals despite what the PC police say but most are not bad people and the bad ones should be sent back. No blanket amnesty but some options for becoming a citizen over a long period of time would make sense and be fair. There is so much involved here it's not hard to see why people are so emotional about this situation. The hard part is, it's the government who must fix this situation, and it's sad to say, but they are not very good at fixing much of anything. There are some good ideas out there but our leaders are to interested in winning the next election and kissing up to there special interest groups to do much of anything.Peace

It is not wrong to call them Illegal, since they are here against the law. gomany, if someone kills another, but then stops, do you not call that person a MURDERER? Yes, you do. Same logic applies.

We DO NOT have to count on them for any of these industries. Do you not know how to wash your own clothes? Swing a hammer? Pick produce? Cook dinner? Are you saying these things are too difficult for you?

We can do these things ourselves. When the illegals are removed, the laws of economics will take care of the rest and everything will balance out. Instead of paying $1 for lettuce, you might pay $1.50. Instead of paying $100 a night for a hotel room, you will pay $105. Instead of paying $5 for your combo meal, you'll pay $5.50.

BUT, instead of paying $100 a month for car insurance to cover uninsured motorists, you will pay $90. Instead of paying $10,000 in property tax, you'll pay $9,500. Instead of making $5 an hour, someone can make $8 and perhaps help support an actual AMERICAN family.

There will be adjustments, to be sure...and I am confident that the reward is well worth the "risk" of deporting every last illegal alien. not "undocumented", not "friends from the south". Not "Rightful owners". Illegal. Unwelcome and illegal.

The USA needs to put this law in effect:

1. There will be NO special bilingual programs in the schools, NO special ballots for elections, and all government business will be conducted in our language.

2. Foreigners will NOT have the right to vote, no matter how long they are here.

3. Foreigners will NEVER be able to hold political office.

4. Foreigners will NOT be a burden to the taxpayers. No welfare, NO food stamps, NO health care, nor any other government assistance programs.

5. Foreigners can invest in this country, but it must be an amount equal to 40,000 times the daily minimum wage.

6. If foreigners do come and want to buy land that will be okay, BUT options will be restricted. You are NOT allowed to own water front property. That property is reserved for citizens naturally born into
this country.

7. Foreigners may NOT protest; NO demonstrations, NO waving a foreign flag, NO political organizing, NO 'bad-mouthing' our president or his policies.
If you do you will be sent home.

8. If you do come to this country illegally, you will be hunted down and sent straight to jail.

Harsh, you say ?

The above laws happen to be the immigration laws of, MEXICO !

"They are called illegals because they are DAILY breaking immigration laws."

No, they are not. They broke immigration law ONCE by entering illegally. Being present in the country afterwards is not breaking the law.

And like it or not, our country depends on them. Our farms, our construction industry, and our factories couldn't get by without them. If we got rid of them, we would have to outsource half our manufacturing to China and other countries.

It is not wrong to call them what they are--illegal aliens and criminals.

No we shouldn't grant them amnesty.

While I generally support the Republican position, W. has really ticked me off on this issue.

And no you can't break into my home and start demanding anything--not unless you want to be staring down the face of me holding a weapon.

The illegal should be trucked out and bush should go with them

To this guy below me - Our ancestors made America great illegal aliens turn every neighborhood they infest into a 3rd world ghetto landfill thats why we don't want illegal criminals coming here. not because we were here first

Illegals should stay in their country and fix it and not come here and work to destroy our cities

Your ancestors never had to get permission to enter "your" country before they came here. The "laws" were passed after you got here.

Talk about a drawbridge mentality. I'm here, so no one else can come.
