I often pass a billboard with the words "Jesus is the answer" on it.

It makes me cringe every time I see it.

How do you think christians would feel if atheists put up billboards saying "God is imaginary. When you die, you're dead" or "Jesus is just a myth"?

If you want to, then go for it. It's a free country. How would I feel? I'd feel sorry for whoever believed those ideas, and I'd be praying for them that God will help them.

Why do you supposed you "cringe" every time you a message about Jesus? Why are any Atheists so upset by them? Could make someone think that those signs are hitting a nerve or something. Yet, with my faith in God, the only thing I would cringe about is for the people who don't have God in their lives.

Diane: Are you so threatened by God that you feel the need to "just rearrange the letters on church marquees so they say things to offend religious folks.. Bring duct tape and be creative an E can be an M a L ca be a 7 it's all in how you look at it.. "? Or is it insecurity?

oh there would be massive burnings and protests for sure.

But it wouldn't change anybodies opinion against God.

In the 19 mile drive from my house to my moms 10 years ago I counted 115 'Jesus' signs on trees and in front yards. Those signs weren't winning anyone for Christ any more than the big billboards are today. So I doubt your billboards would do the opposite. I even doubt a sign company would do it for you. Put one up in your yard and your house might burn down. (no that isn't a threat) Very un-Christian-like, I know. As another poster replied a true Christian would pray for you.

I would love to see a billboard that read..

Religion the easy way out of thinking..

or

Religion? No thanks..

In the meantime I just rearrange the letters on church marquees so they say things to offend religious folks.. Bring duct tape and be creative an E can be an M a L ca be a 7 it's all in how you look at it...

No problem, it is a free country, so why do you have a problem if someone pays their own money to put the name Jesus on a billboard? Put one up and let us all kow where it is so we can go see it.
And Niechi wrote a whole book on God is dead, that dont bother me either.

I'll give you a quick response: Don't read the Billboards--you have free will. If you choose to put up a billboard--do so--this is America. If the truth is what you believe--why do you worry?

The problem is that without a central organization and tithing and such we have not the money to do that. Hey here's a thought. Let's hit up Bill Gates for the money to do that. God knows (oops - old habit) that he has enough to spare some.

Christians have this evangelical tendency to spread the word because "It's in the Bible". And Atheists don't want to stoop to that level.

I feel like that too, religion should be kept out of public places.

I want to airbrush "god is imaginary" on a t-shirt.
think that's a good idea?

Indiana sucks,... we have "In God We Trust" on the license plates, as an option.
