I have an online friend who is depressed and thinking of suicide. I don't know her phone number or where she lives or anything. So what should I do?

While people start to say about commit suicide, this means the person is calling for help. He/She needs someone to listen to his/her problems. Try to talk with him/her, understand what happened.

Tell her to get help. Go the local hospital. Tell her to call you. Give her your phone number. Tell her to call her family. Tell her to call a friend. Ask for her info and get help there ASAP.
A local hospital can get a psych consult in less than 12 hours.
Tell her life is worth living and death is never the answer.
Tell her you care.

Find out as much as you can about her location. If she is on Yahoo, contact them by phone or email. They have her phone number and address. Tell them as much information as you can about her. If she is suicidal, they can contact the proper authorities.

Try to convince your friend to give you the information. The other option that you might have is to get hold of your local crisis or suicide hotline. They might have a way to help you. Also, let her know that you are there for her, and that you are not going to give up on her.

contact yahoo. (or what ever you are talking to her on) they can get her ip address, from there they will be able to get her home address, and track her down. and contact the proper people to get her the help she needs. best of luck to you.

well in this case you can only encourage her to not do it and get help.perhaps provide her with some resources.
