[Elder Russell M. Nelson] urged his listeners to seek first to follow the teachings of the church before seeking wealth, which includes the commandment to create families.

"The beauty of family is much more than physical. It is spiritual," he said.

Times have changed in half a century, Elder Nelson said

"Temptation and sin exceeds anything we knew in our day," he said.

"Satan is waging war directly at the heart of God's plan — the family," he said.

The age of couples getting married for the first time is increasing, as is the number of unmarried couples, he said. "It takes real faith to withstand this attack," he added.

Well I dont know if it is a direct attack from satan because people are getting married later in life, but the attack on the family from satan is the lack of fathers and the portrayal of the father as an idiot by most of the media in the USA.

Ive studied many of the Mormon doctrines and for the most part, they are whack, real whack.

What of the Mormons first wives, as they age and younger new wives are brought in, is that first union under attack because it is older than the new union? If God condoned these actions, I would not think so.

Two points to make to believe this. Is the advise correct? Does Satan wish to destroy the family?

I think we are letting fads undermine our family structure. Years ago teenagers prepared to have serious relationships and establish families. Today they just prepare to party.

Is Satan behind this? It isn't wrong to say so, but I don't like to give him credit for the choices we make. I don't need him as a fall guy. It is enough, for me, to say this choice will make you happier than that one.

My brother is a Mormon. He didn't get married and have kids until he was over 30. He's shared his beliefs with me, and this has not been among them.
