Both "Yahweh" and "Jehovah" seek to pronounce "the Tetragrammaton", which is the four-Hebrew-letter expression used in the bible (and elsewhere) to express the Divine Name of Almighty God (the Father). If "Yehowah" is close to the correct pronunciation, then it becomes a much more subjective answer about whether "Yehowah" is more similar to "Jehovah" or "Yahweh". Many or most English speakers are likely to embrace the pronunciation which their predecessors embraced at least four hundred years ago.

The personal name of God in Hebrew is represented by the letters YHVH (written right to left). No one knows the origin or pronunciation of this name. Some scholars suggest it is an anagram of "I AM WHAT I AM" (in Hebrew) the response that God gave Moses when he asked for his name. A mystical tradition is that the letters represent the sound that is made when people breath in and then out again. It's all just speculation.

In the Masoretic Text, the name YHVH has the vowel points of the name/title Adonai, which means Lord. This is because the name of God was not to be spoken. When reading aloud, Adonai was to be substituted in it's place.

This name of God, with the vowels of Adonai, transliterated into Latin becomes Iehovah. In German, it becomes Jehovah. Which is where you get the name of your sect of Christianity.
