If this is true, wouldn't it be in opposition to what the scriptures tell us? The scriptures tell us that there was no death in the world until AFTER sin entered in. If there was no death up until the time Adam and Eve ate from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, how could they have evolved? Evolution cannot exist without first the existence of death.
Furthermore, if Adam, a man, was made first, and was walking around in the garden, eating fruit and naming animals long before Eve was even a thought on his mind...(do you see where I'm going with this?) What was there, a human race of males only that somehow continued evolving to include women later on?

I'm sorry, but science has NOT proven that the world is old. In fact, much of the scientific data we have DEBUNKS the "old earth" idea.

TVX,
Wrong again! Actually, the science shows quite the contrary - evolution is an impossibility. As far as us being at the center of the universe - there is actually mathematical evidence that this is so.
There is really only one explanation for our existence, that should not be simply ignored. A universe that is made up of nothing but pattern could not have come about by some "fluke" as you put it. Absolute random processes cannot produce deliberate patterns.

PaulCyp - you make it sound like you have it all figured out.
I'm sorry Paul, but life does not form all by itself from non-life. This is a GREAT problem that evolutionists admit their theories have, and they continue to be baffled by.

fruitcake - you still have the problem of death not existing until after sin entered into the world through Adam and Eve. Evolution cannot exist if death doesn't first exist.

The Bible tells us that God first formes the biological body of man from inorganic matter ("the dust of the earth"), through an undescribed process. Science tells us that the biological man came into existence from inorganic matter, through a process that is now well understood. There is no contradiction. There is no reason for the Bible to describe such a process, any more than there is reason for the Bible to describe photosynthesis or mitosis. These are matters of science, having nothing to do with the plan of salvation. So is evolution.
The Bible further states that once the biological man had been formed, God breathed into him a spiritual nature, imortal soul and moral capacity, thereby creating man in His image and likeness. At this moment the first human being came into existence, by a direct act of God, acting upon the biological entity He had already brought into existence.

There's a large problem with your first paragraph; you're taking the story of Adam and Eve literally. That story was created to answer people's questions about where we came from. The story comforted people, but was a complete fabrication. In fact, most of the bible has just been made up. The bible has been passed down through more than 2000 years of revising and editing, through numerous mistranslations into other languages and back again. It's not a text to be relied upon for its accuracy.

There is no proof a god did anything at all but we have extensive proof of evolution. Religious people tend to think we are the center of the Universe and that our origins have to make us seem to be a super magical creation of a higher intelligence.
It is more likely we are the fluke of nature and evolution. Is that so bad? Not really. The middle-ages mindset tends to disagree.
There is also absolutely no proof of a soul, an afterlife or any supreme being. Why is so important that these things exist?

The church denied scientific evidence of evolution for years and believed that the earth was 6000 years old. Then when science proved that wasn't true, the church had to change their stance or look like idiots. So now they say "ok evolution happened, but God did it." Which makes no sense at all, because evolution/big bang is an alternative explanation to God and doesn't need the existence of God to validate it

Amen, brother.
I take it one step further. I don't believe in evolution, AND I don't believe the earth is 4.5 billion years old. I believe it's only about 6,000 years old, and science proves it again and again.
Did you know that our dating methods are so botched, a guy killed an animal and sent different parts of the same animal to a lab to be dated - a piece of hide, a piece of bone, etc - and all the different parts came back dated thousands or millions of years, each piece in a totally different time frame from the others? They won't teach you that in first grade, but they'll hammer the religion of evolution down your throat and have you believe that a whale's reproductive organ is actually a hip bone from when it was a cow. O_o ..What??

Perhaps Adam is the "missing link" in the evolutionary process. That is, he was the first to develop a sense of right and wrong and also develop a conscience.
Just a thought.
No one knows how the genes split to make males and females in the human world or the animal world.

We could not have evolved from apes. Ever heard of Mitochondrial Eve? She is a common ancestor to all woman on earth. Her mother could not have been an ape because apes also have mitochondrial dna.
Also is the fact there if we are evolved from apes Jesus would be just another sophisticated monkey and therefore could not have risen from the grave. Where is your faith people?

Because you can't be a Bible-believing Christian and believe in evolution, considering the fact that the Bible says that God created the earth in 6 days and rested on the 7th. The Bible and evolution don't mix.
