Absolutely not. The yellow cable is "composite" video, whereas the red and white are stereo audio. The component is only video (at a much higher quality: Enhanced Definition--480i or 480p). You will need to buy a converter for component to composite video for the picture and also a stereo RCA to 1/8" audio jack to get the sound.

Follow Carimbo's instructions. That'll fix you up. However, just as an education point.. the reason the Red/white/yellow cables aren't working is you're trying to plug a composite audio/video cable into a component video jack. RGB is those colors of video, with a seperate audio (yellow, second red) next to it. RCA/AV cables have a single component video and audio. There should be an RCA port someone on the TV, but following the setup menus should let you configure audio via HDMI.

Your RGB cables are for your video (red, green, and blue your primary colors that make up video) . your RCA connectors if i would have to guess is yellow, red , and white.
yellow is for video , red and white are commonly audio. u might try running your RGB cable trought a vcr or dvd player first before running into your tv since most vcr's and dvd players both types of connectors plug in's .

unfortunately this cannont be done unless you pay for a little box which converts them but this can be expensive. I had the same problem to a sky (red whit and yellow) to a projector component inputs (RGB) i had to buy a box to do it for me.

What you need is a "component to composite" converter. Red/Blue/Green is component (video only) and Yellow/Red/White is composite video (yellow) with stereo audio (red and white).

You can get a converter box, but they are expensive. See http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?sku=A0963886&cs=19&c=us&l=en
