How can they possibly believe that everything just "happened" one day!? Just look around at the beauty of the earth! Does it look like it just "happened"?

If I took a wrist watch and took it all apart, all those little gears and everything. And then I threw all the little pieces up into the air, would they come down all together, assembled and ticking?

I don't think so! But that is exactly what atheist's believe. That things just happened.

The big bang and evolution isn't one toss and everything happened in that moment.. It's taken billions of years for the universe to reach this point..

Your analogy is inadequate when you come up with an analogy that involved billions of years try again..

Until then why not accept that you don't understand? Accept that not everyone is going to believe that a super sky man did it all in 7 days?

Can you accept these things or will you only be satisfied when everyoone believes as you do?

Who claimed that anything 'just happened', except for creationists.

The time leading up to the Big Bang is immeasurable, with our current means.

It took eons for the cosmos to form from the dust and debris created by the Big Bang.

It took hundreds of thousands of years, before the right conditions and chemical reactions occured; allowing life to come forth.

Do a bit of scientific research into these things, rather than just parroting the entire "wrist watch" foolishness. God didn't create science...a lack of science caused men to create gods.

Theists are the ones that believe it just happened (in 6 days actually). People with a grasp of reality realize that the earth and all life on it has evolved over billions of years.

Evolution of humans is very complicated, but that doesn't mean it's wrong. Everything didn't just "happen" one day. Sure, a human appearing from nothing would be very unlikely; but that isn't what evolution teaches us. You are assuming that evolution is all about chance and luck. It isn't! It's the very opposite, over a very long period of time. Whatever is best fitted for survival and reproducing in its environment will survive. It is not chance. Your watch analogy is not in any way representative of evolution.

Wake up and smell reality. Use common sense and science, and above all, think for yourself; don't blindly believe what your parents tell you.

Atheists don't believe everything just "happened"; they just don't care. I'm not saying that atheism is good or bad, it's just who some people are. Atheists believe that it doesn't matter who the world was created by or who rules the universe because they believe that knowledge won't affect their lives. As my friend's dad says, "I'd be here, right here, whether Joe Shmoe created the world/universe or Billy Bob. So why does it matter? Nothing can be proved." He lives off of facts, as do most atheists, and does not care who created this or who rules that because, scientifically, it cannot be proved.

Why not? Give any situation enough time and it will unfold upon itself. The right conditions at the right time creates astounding things.

But consider this too: Energy cannot be created or destroyed and it's always changing form. That's one of the most basic laws of physics. So by that rationing, it's very possible that since energy can't be created or destroyed, that all of our energy, all our life force, has always existed. And it's always changing form, which means, evolution has always existed. What if the world had no beginning? Maybe it always was.

Just food for thought.

That is not what atheists believe. There is nothing accidental about evolution and natural selection, and the process took billions of years.

I'll tell you what's harder to believe. That a supernatural being created everything fully formed in 6 days. That's pretty unbelievable.

I dunno about other people but I don't believe it "just happened".
I believe that it took millions if not billions of years for everything to be as it is now.
You can argue by saying there's no real proof but for me the big bang and all other such theories are still more plausible than the earth and all its beauty being formed in seven days.

no offence XD

That's called the Argument From Design, and it's a fallacy. Look it up.

And it didn't 'just happen one day'. Think about this: what would happen if you played the Lottery every day for a billion years?

You'd make a lot of money, wouldn't you? Does that mean you're lucky?

I don't understand how theists can claim that their version of god exists when you could use similar arguments to prove the existence of Santa Claus or the Tooth Fairy.

"Faith" just means believing the ridiculous. Nothing more than that.
