Yes, they are not prohited from being there, but it has been a long time since I heard about any problems with them..

Every where that there is Salt water there are sharks. Most of the sharks off the So Cal coast are Blues and they are generally not aggressive towards humans. No reports of shark attack in these areas for years. No worries girl. Have fun at the beach.

There has not been a fatal shark attack in the history of Long Beach, and only one report since 1926 in Orange County. The threat is very slim in southern CA-- In norcal, where there are more seals and the sharks that feed on them, the threat is much greater, but attacks are very rare considering the amount of swimmers/surfers in the water.
