A perfect soul would not WANT to "burn" you forever, but to chip YOU into a finer person.

Actually, a burning hell is not taught in the Bible. It is taught by false churches but it really isnt what God has said in the Bible.
The problem is that around the time of the Greeks, people started believing in an immortal soul. That is not a biblical teaching.
All thoughout the Old Testiment, the Jews knew that when a person dies, he was dead. They knew one day he would be brought back to life, but that isn't until Judgement day.
Nothing changed after Jesus came. Revelation talks about throwing Satan and death into the lake of fire and they will burn forever, and everyone following them will also, but it was strictly symbolic. Jesus compared it to a garbage pile that was always burning and everything in it is destroyed.
That is what God says, that the unrighteous will be destroyed forever, with no hope of a resurrection. Unfortunately, most Christians believe the lie that Satan told Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden, That if they ate of the fruit they would not die.

gavin.... Are you a parent? Have you ever been one? Or, have you stepped back and seen what you had put your own parents through?
Thing is, there are factors here that go beyond your understanding...and even I can only fathom a portion of it...
satan warped many with the same cunning that he used on stronger Angels...mankind was child's play to him, and, messing up what God wants is his one and only concern.
God has a mind like Spock on some things... If we follow satan's leading, we will suffer the same as he, because in God's way of looking at it, if we do not follow GOD, then, we are not HIS, but are SATAN'S.
You can blame God all you want for what you consider a "bad deal", but, you DO have a "choice".... we all have had the same choice to make...no-one has a "free pass"...
Thing is, what we try to hold onto in denying God, when we finally DO go to Him, we find that happiness was NOT what we once thought it was... it becomes totally different and new and wonderful.
I pray you find answers and knowledge of God in a REAL way...
May you find peace. :)

This is what happens when a book is passed down through more than 2000 years of editing and revising by scholars and scribes, being mistranslated into other languages and back, and is then treated as the literal, absolute word of god.
It's disgusting.

We end up in hell for rejecting God and his plan for our redemption. He provided the sacrifice that will wash us clean as new, but not if we reject it and him.
The wages of sin is death. Romans 6:23
Because that which is known about God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse. Romans 1:19-20

they drawn God almighty as a Sadic that choose to torture the soul instead of destroying them or he is not almighty that can´t destroy the soul of evil people.
But for been honest I don´t really thing they believe that, but they are afraid of telling that cause they really thing that the bible teachs that, that was changed in some bibles by our Lovely Catholic church to scare and control people.

I am a Christian, and I DO NOT believe in eternal punishment. Much of Christianity is taken in by traditional teachings and have not read what the Bible TRULY says about the fate of the wicked.

Well, gavin n, as a Christian I think I can say that you sum up an entire, complex, and complicated philosophy and religion that takes years to understand quite succinctly. I think its a little bit more complicated than you convey it to be.

yes the bible DOES teach of a burning hell. It is in the book of revelation. God does not want to see anyone wind up in hell. That is why He sent His son Jesus to die on the cross for your sins. He loves you That much!!!
