I met this wonderful guy awhile ago and after being best friends for four years, I hads to move, here, to South Korea. -Dads in U.S. Army- Now It's been three years, and I still think about him, and heck I think I am still in love with him...

But, My mom will sometimes joke about me marrying him...Saying "I always said when you were younger you would marry a guy with the same last name..." And "He is so sweet." "You should marry him"... When I ask, she says she is just joking... And Haha I am 15... Yes, I know too young to worry about marrage, but please try to understand... I am just curious.

So the questions are

1. Is she really joking

2. Why do Mothers do this

Thank you all

It sounds like she really is joking...honestly, what mother would want her 15 year old daughter married? Maybe she just likes him a lot, or thinks he's the type of man she'd want you to marry. My mother started acting all crazy when she met my serious bf 2 years ago, and started talking about us getting married just because she and my dad really liked him...and now, 2 years later we're actually planning our wedding...I never expected this all to happen!! Take my word, moms can be crazy, especially when it comes to their daughters finding a nice man.

She may of been serious in a joking way. Moms want the best for their kids so they get into thing like marriage and dating and who, what, where, why, when, and how. I would say not to worry about it until you cross the serious relationship bridge.

Be thankful, my mom says things like "If he was here, I bet he'd help wash the dishes." when I just finished one chore and am taking a break.

She's joking, but she's basically telling you that she knows you like him a lot, and that she approves of you two as a couple. Why moms do this? I don't know...I'd like to know why my mom compares me against him and tries to nag me with it....
