everyone has a different level of tolerance for pain, so there simply isn't any way to say how painful the recovery will be for you. discuss your concerns with the surgeon, make sure he has adequate pain control options ordered for you.

My mom had 2 major foot surgeries, hers were a mess. SHe had bunions, bones removed, and also some plastic joints put in. Her feet are fine now, but she has really committed to proper fitting shoes. One thing my mom did, was she walked on her feet right from the beginning. Out of surgery, she was bent over and hobbling around on her heels hold her toes up so they didn't get touched, and then she just walked everywhere in soft knit slippers. Because of the increased blood flow, she made 3 1/2 months healing progress in 1 month. She said it was very painful, but there was no way she was going to use a bed pan! And her surgeries were 30 yrs ago, so it was permanent for her

yes the recovery is painful which is why I haven't done it yet. I don't feel I can afford the time off from work etc and would want both feet done at the same time.
