An all-powerful God could make anyone stronger at anytime without causing any pain.

As a Christian, I think it's incredibly rude & tacky for anyone to make a comment like that. I could understand them saying, "I pray that God will give you strength during this time," but saying "This will make you stronger!" is just not an appropriate thing to say.

I do believe that sometimes God puts us through very difficult situations for reasons that our minds can't grasp and that good can come out of it. An example is the Susan G. Komen foundation. Her sister started the foundation in hopes to raise more awareness against breast cancer after Susan passed away from the disease. Now it is arguably the biggest cancer organization in the world and has helped millions of people.

My faith is that "everything is as it should be all the time." It's really hard to understand why kids die of cancer - or why any "bad things" happen. Still - even though I don't understand it - I believe that everything happens for a reason.

And - if somebody's child is dying of cancer - it's not a good idea to tell them that God is trying to make them stronger. God is Love. God will help them to be strong when they are coping.

I don't believe they are being tested. But I do believe that if they keep their faith, they will find comfort, and they will grow to understand why this is happening. I'm not saying this is happening to teach them a lesson, I'm saying that there is a lesson to be learned. Everything happens for a reason, and regardless of what they would PREFER to be goin on, THIS is what's happening, and they can either let it happen and learn nothing, or they can learn. I can't say things will turn out for the best, and I don't know why it's happening. I'm just saying, without faith, neither will they.

God doesn't kill or give diseases. He gives Life God does allow the devil to do these things for a reason. Everything happens for a reason. Yes our trails and tribulations (death of a loved one) teaches us or forces us to be stronger. Most people who say that say it out of context or just pure ignorance.

Be Encouraged!

I believe in a god, but not in a devil. I dont think he is laid-back, but dont expect to live very much if your dna has been corrupted by cancerigenous compounds or radiation, making dysfunctional cells invulnerable to apoptosis which in the end override healthy cells in vital organs (that´s cancer in a nutshell). God does not test you with 3rd party suffering.

So they say God is trying to make you stronger? sounds like a test , trial, temptation sorta like to me if you put it in that sense well any way never fret show them this scripture,
in your own version is fine but in my NWT Its states:

James 1:13 When under trial let no one say " I am being tried by God." For with evil things God cannot be tried nor does he himself try anyone....

It's simply yet another example of how the Catholic church is flawed. It obviously has no roots in common sense.

Anybody who says that should get a punch in the nose. The answer that satan causes cancer is equally rediculous.

This is Very Touchy Subject.

satan kills, steals and destroys and then Deceives you into Thinking "GOD did it".
satan is the father of LIES.

Children of GOD who do not or have not Learned much about Walking in Faith and Receiving from GOD, are Prime Targets for satans Deceptions in this Area.

Hope this helps.
