A little while ago my cousin said my kitten will be going in heat soon, but she's only 5 months old. All I want to know is if a kitten can go in heat, at 5 months old, and if so, what would be the signs of her going into heat

You need to get your kitten spayed by 6 months of age.
Of course cats go into heat. That's how they get pregnant and you don't want that to happen. It's better for her health to spay her. It prevents several illnesses she's likely to get later on in life if she's not spayed. Plus, we have too many cats having litter after litter and there are thousands of cats in rescue. Save a bunch of cats from abuse and going into rescue by spaying your cat. It's the responsible thing to do.

Yes she can. Kittens can go into heat earlier than that sometimes too. She will probably meow a lot and will flatten herself to the floor with her rear end in the air and tail to the side. You should get her spayed. There are too many kittens out there already without homes. If she is an outdoor cat, she could very well be bred before you see any signs of heat. Keep in mind, her signs may be different or she may not show any, although that is unusual. Just because you may not think she is in heat doesn't mean it's safe to let her outside. Like I said, you should spay her so you don't have any unwanted litters and to protect her overall health. It is a proven fact that cats are healthier after being spayed.

When a kitten reaches 6 months or so, they will go into heat and pretty much stay in heat unless they are pregnant or spayed. Their mood can change and maybe more grumpy or could acted friendlier. They may also start urinating outside of the litter box. They will try anything and everything to get outside to find a mate. Get her spayed as soon as possible. They do not bleed like dogs do. So you may not know they are in heat until it is to late.

It's not worth the wait. You should have your cat spayed by 6 months of age, because a cat could go into a heat cycle at anytime from 6 months on. If your cat goes into heat, she will continue to go into heat cycles multiple times or sometimes until she mates. Cats usually go into heat in the spring and fall, unless they are repeating in the heat cycle.

When your cat goes into heat, she will be a complete displeasure to live with. If she is an indoor cat she will want to get outside to mate. They make lots of loud cries to attract a mate or mates. She will also, raise her bottom up in the air. If she goes outside she will be pregnant in no time. You will know she is when she stops crying the next day.

Please save yourself the grief of living with a cat in heat and do your part as a responsible cat owner and spay your cat now. If you think it will be so cute having kittens around, please restrain yourself and go to a shelter with lots of kittens and cats that already exist waiting for a home or worse the euthanasia needle. Besides, your spaying your cat is beneficial for her health. There are a lot of places that will spay for a nominal fee.

Yes. usually around 6 months old, and female cats can come into heat 4-6 times a year. And they can get pregnant again while still nursing one litter of kittens. Be responsible and get her spayed.

Cats can go into heat as early as 4 months. Different vets spay at different times. My vets will spay at 3 months old. Make an appt. now and get it done as soon as possible.

Yes they go into heat...males pee everywhere, females bleed...

The vet told me you get them fixed around 5-6 months, so yeah, that is when they first go into heat. The only way to keep them from bleeding or spraying is to get them fixed.

mine went into heat at around the 5.5 month mark, thereabouts. some vets will tell you they must have at least one heat before being spayed, others will tell you it doesn't matter. schedule the surgery as soon as possible.

Cats go into their first heat around 5-7 months. She will become ultra friendly, yowl much more than usual, and beg constantly to go outside.

Please spay her as soon as possible.
